Stayed here twice in June and overall it was a good experience.
We asked for a high floor room and they gave us one on the 23rd floor in the corner (dual aspect) which was fantastic with stunning views. When we returned the second time they already had us placed in the same room which was a nice touch.
Rooms are spacious and clean, only negatives are that the place has been sort of refurbished but the bits they didnt do - mainly the bathroom - aren't that nice. There was a funny drain smell all the time in the bathroom and a few silverfish. The air con is ancient so very loud and not that efficient, but does the job. Windows are single glazed so you can hear the noise from the restaurants, buses and street below.
The pool was nice, warm enough to swim in and bathed in afternoon sun. Steam room was also nice and free of charge.
Some extra charges appeared on my credit card which were quickly sorted out and refunded.
The best thing about the hotel is the staff. They couldn't do more to help you. That and the location. It's central to everything you want. the beach is only 10 min walk as are all the shops.
Davie itself is vibrant although quite a few homeless. Dont let it bother you as they just mind their own business mostly, and Vancouver has this problem all over, not just on Davie.
The best restaurant by far in the greek taverna (Stephos?) located about 25m from the hotel (turn right as you exit) there is always a long line outside, but join it - its well worth the 20 minute wait.
