When we arrived we were given a room with two double beds eventhough I had booked and been confirmed a room with two queen beds. I was moved to a room with two queen beds but that is where things got really bad. It was the middle of August and really hot so we immediatly turned on the air conditioner. The room had previously been smoking room so turning on the air conditioner was the worst thing we could do. The smell that came into the room was unbearable. We went to the desk and they quickly handed us a bottle of Febreeze. The Febreeze didn't help but only added another smell to the room. Even the hallways had a certain odour but the odour in our room was the worst. We asked to be moved to anther room but they were fully booked. We were unable to have the air conditioner on and we couldn't open a window as we were on the ground floor and it was a sliding door. Between the heat and the smell in the room we had a very bad sleep. We were at this hotel as part of a group so we couldn't easily change hotels and were there for a couple of nights. When we came home our luggage smelled as a continued reminder of our bad experience. I would not stay at this hotel again. I wrote a letter to the hotel and they refused to acknowledge that there was a smell in this room and they even was as far as to say that this was one of their more desireable rooms with queen beds and a fridge. It's amazing that this room was available for us to be moved into when they had made an error on our booking when the hotel was apparently fully booked.
