“Swimming with the Dolphins”

Sea Life Park Vallarta

It's a small water park with an area to swim with the dolphins. If you are just swimming with the dolphins, your admission is included. If not, you still are charged an admission fee to the park.
The dolphin swim area was clean and nice, however the park is very run down and is in need of repair.
The cement is sticky and not clean and the pools areas need repair work and repainting. After returning to the hotel, I really felt like foot fungus was going to be a problem after using the facility.
It's Mexico, so what can you expect from a public attraction. There is another Dolphin Swim at Vallarta Adventures, but I have no idea what it is like.

“Mosquitoes!”

We arrived early to the park, but the people there checked us in and gave us a bracelet. We paid for the the royal swim, and I had heard elsewhere that the sea lion experience was included but they never gave us the other bracelet for it, so ask about if you get the royal swim. We didn't bring sun block because they advertise a dolphin friendly sunblock that the store sells, but they didn't have any that day when we asked. We walked around the park to look around before we sat down in the white chairs they pointed us too. It had rained really hard the night before so there was standing water everywhere around the park (not to mention it is a pool park). The mosquitoes were terrible, some of the worst I have ever experienced. They sold mosquito repellant at the store but we didn't want to put anything on since we were going to be swimming with the dolphins and didn't know if it was safe for them. We came home with a large amount of mosquito bites.
The royal swim was not worth the money, the hour with them was rushed so people could get the different swims out of the way. The people that paid less still got pushed on a boogie board, and some even got to feed the dolphins underwater. If you do go pay for the cheaper experience, it looked more fun then ours. As for the water parks we didn't stay that long because of the lack of sunblock. At least 2 of the 8 slides were shut down. There were not that many people so you did get to go down the slides alot without a line. I wasn't comfortable with the safety of the water park, the workers there didn't seem to pay much attention to who was going down the slide and didn't bother to explain how to go down the slides, they just pointed towards the tube and smiled. I could have gone down a slide and hit someone in front of me because of their lack of attention. If you do go pay attention to who goes down before you and bring mosquito repellant.

It was a great experience. We went full out and bought the full package including the DVD and pic's. It in my opinion was worth it! If you had always wanted to swim with the Dolphins do not pass it up. It is pricey but how often do you get the opportunity. :-)

My husband and I booked this wonderful encounter through Ana Rojas, the E-Commerce Sales Executive @ Grupo Discovery (Tel. Toll free from US [---] or Toll free from Mexico [---]). The transaction was smooth and friendly with no hitches and wonderful commnuication!! We booked this wonderful Park as a part of our Honeymoon. We purchased the Royal Swim which included a complimentary Sea Lion Encounter. I expected to see/swim with the dolpins of course, but never in a million years did I ever think that we would get so "personal" with them. First, we were given an exclusive tour of the feeding and caring areas along with the new birds and monkeys they had. They explained care, handling and feeding of the dolphins and sea lions. Then we had about 45 minutes with the Haidy the Sea Lion. WOW, what a pleasure!!!!!! We learned so much and the trainer was so informative and answered any all questions we had. We got in the water with Haidy and was able to pet, hold, high five, feed, dance and sing with Haidy. It was an unmeasureable, unforgettabe delight!!!! Then we met with the Dolphins...two of them!! (Sorry forgot their names) We got got pet them, have a water fight, sing and had really closely encounters. They pulled us along on their dorsal fins and then they pushed us up from the bottom of our feet like superman in flight. I actually started to cry at the end as we had so much fun and I could not beleive that we were able to get this "close" to these gentle giants that I only dreamed of a little girl ever seeing,,,let alone touching. This was the best highlight of my life!! I LOVE animals and this was one thing that I wanted to do before I died..and I did it witht he man that I love!! Everyone at the Park was so wonderful and friendly too! We were able to buy pictures and a wonderful copy of the DVD's of both encounters. They were worth every penny!!! One of those things that are unreplaceable. This was a trip worth every penny and more!!! I will do it agin if I get the chance!!! You REALLY get your moneys worth and I am so glad that we did!!! This is a MUST to book!!!!! Trust me - you will be glad to you did!!!

“Excellent experience”

We booked the royal dolphin swim online and got the sea lion encounter for free as a promotion they were running. My advice is, book early in the day, the groups are smaller and you get more one on one attention. there were seven of us in our dolphin group (three of us came together), and our trainer, Alex, was wonderful. We had Azteca and Simbad. The three of us were the only ones in our sea lion group, and they spoiled us. Pauline gave us a behind the scenes tour, and we got to interact with not one, but four sea lions, including Pepe, the Very large male, but sweet tempered and not a bad kisser, and his kids Nixie and Michele, and his love of this year at least, Lulu. It was a very relaxed atmosphere, the animals were loved as well as loving, the trainers obviously cared deeply for them. But, don't forget to re-apply your sunscreen before you hit the waterpark (they sell dolphin friendly sunscreen in the gift shop), or you'll get burned like we did. The waterpark has everything for kids to teens to adults to grandparents, and the restaurant has big portions and great cervesas! The videographer and photographer were excellent, and although we took a lot of our own pictures, we had to buy their high quality photos as well as their video. A little pricey for three sets of pictures and two sets of videos, but we haven't regretted it at all.
