Just Spent five days @ the all Inclusive Grand Villas in Nuevo Vallarta, and have decided it is the best 5 star hotel I have ever stayed at. Yes, it was very expensive. The food was unbelievable, but the best part was the service. I never saw one person who didn't greet me with a smile, and never did I feel as if someone was doing me a favor. ( which I can say happens at the more exclusive hotels).
Wonderful beds ( we had a 1 bedroom King suite) with turn-down service.and a "pillow menu". Marble, large, jacuzzi tub with separate shower and 2 shower heads. Plenty of closet space, safe.
When they put us on the 2nd floor, I had heard to try and get @ least 5 or above ( ocean view) but we were right on the ocean, the balcony has a bed/couch deal that was heaven.
High speed internet---not really ---so brace yourself.
Took 15min to arrive from airport. Be aware that there are dozens of timeshare "snakes" who act as if they are hotel transportation, and are vying to trap you for a sales presentation.
24 hr room service, and all the food was great. had breakfast every morning , shrimp cocktails for snacks. minibar has cokes and Modelo beer. They set everyone over 21 up with a bottle of liquor of their choice. ( liquor menu.)No alcohol from room service. So you have to get out to have a mimosa.
French was the best. ( pre-order the souffle) everything we had here was excellent.
Italian I didn't like at all, but my husband liked mine and his.
Didn't bother with Mexican place, heard it was ok.
Infiniti pool, lovely, swim-up bar, mattress on the chaises, poolside waiters, lunch. very beautiful and plenty of sun or shade.
Spa. Do something at the spa and go in an hour early to enjoy all the wellness baths. I have been to a lot of spas and thought this one was on par with all 5-star. ( expense wise as well).
Booked the Canopy Zip line with Vallarta Adventures---It was fabulous. Go early as it was really hot by noon. Take $--- they have a tasting at the end. Even the ride up was fun and you get to see how everyone really lives. If you're afraid of heights, it's for real---I wouldn't go. It's also a serious hike---straight up in places.
Went to downtown PV cab was $16. and $25 to get back. worth going down there really pretty boardwalk. All in all I would say this would be a big-splurge trip for sure. Adios
