I stayed at Club International in October 2004. The facility is very clean and the staff were friendly. The Pool had a good design w/ a restuarant & bar connecting to it. I didn't like the beach it was located on it was almost in a bay area with no waves. And it wasn't as clean and pristine as the other hotels. You can drive up the street to some of the other beachs and use them. I would stay here again. Enjoyed it.

What can I say about this resort? I have to say, for being over 30 years old, it was in excellent condition. The housekeepers are doing an excellent job as well the all the employees. Although it's far from downtown cancun, it's an excellent place away from the rucus of downtown. we ate at la palapa a few times.

Everyone should go eat at Hacienda Sisal which is adjacent to the sister resort, The Royal Sands. Excellent buffet (5 stars) and live entertainment.

As for accommodations, my family stayed in a 2 bedroom suite. it was very spacious and clean. The view was breathtaking, showing the downtown strip and the lagoon.

There are activities at the resort everyday. They have a schedule available throughout the hotel. (ex: make your own crafts, water polo day)

The negative aspects of our stay was the fact that everyday we were hassled by the people to attend their timeshare. If they would have left us alone, we would have been fine.

From what I remember, I believe the resort is closed or switching its chain. Whatever happened, I hope for the best. It's been a great 30 years for the club international de cancun.

Traded with II for 2 weeks at VCI. The room on our first week confirmation was the room we had for 2 weeks. Was supposed to change to ocean front but they kept us in the same room. Although a little disappointed at first as had our ocean front room on our screen saver for the last year, our room B824 was great overlooking the 2nd pool and we did have a view of the ocean if standing on our patio. Maid service was excellent and at the same time every day - 9:00am. Not sure if they monitored our comings and goings to get this service but was nice to have it done early and could go back uninterrupted any time of the day. The restaurant service, quality and cost was great and comparable to off resort prices. We didn't make the trip to Walmart for groceries just bought at the mini mart for breakfast and lunch items. Our only disappointment was with the beach. The water was very shallow but we had brought floats so were able to float along and with the boat traffic were able to enjoy some waves. There was seaweed but staff were out every day cleaning, If we wanted to swim we went to the pool. There were signs up at the other Royal resorts along the Cancun strip advising to stay out of the water due to sea lice so it was nice not to have that restriction. No trouble getting a hut any time of day at the beach or pool. It was the first place I have ever visited where guests did not stake out their spots and leave them empty. That was truly a pleasure!

“Don't go to the timeshare sales breakfast”

Club International

Whatever you do, don't attend the timeshare sales breakfast. These things have a bad reputation for a reason. These people are liers.

We stayed at the Club International during the middle of March. When we checked in we were asked if we would go to the timeshare sales breakfast. We were told that we would get a free tour of Chichen Itza and a free breakfast. We hesitated at first and then they offered a tour to Isla Mujeres too. We got our free breakfast the next morning but then the staff backed away from the Isla Mujeres tour. It wasn't a big deal because we mostly wanted to go to Chichen Itza. We attended the sales talk the next morning at the Sands, another Vacation Club International resort. They told us after the talk that our concierge would set up the Chichen Itza Tour. We talked to our concierge and she agreed to set up the tour but never followed through. When we asked her the next day whether she had booked us on the tour, she claimed she didn't know how. Finally, she made some phone call and sent us to the Thomos Moore travel desk. The man at the desk was extremely rude and claimed that he couldn't book us on the tour. We then demanded to speak with the manager in the lobby. He agreed to make sure we were booked on the tour. The manager finally got us on the tour that we were promised. I think they give you the run around on purpose, since most people witl give up.

“Beautiful vacation at Club International”

We just returned last week from a weekend at Club International. We had stayed here last May and were loved the updated changes to the beach. The beach now sports three full rows of palapas and the palm trees have leafed out so beautifully. The gardens were incredibly lush and well tended. The villas are so beautifully maintained and well kept. We had 6 people in our beachfront villa and had plenty of room for all.
