“Worst vacation ever!!!”

I stayed here with my friend for a week. You had to pay for every single thing. I had 20 dollars stolen from my walet in my purse in my room! I went to the manager and they fiddled around with our lock and told me that the person who cleaned my room had been working there for for 20 years and was very reliable. Grrr. It made me very angry. Escpecially when he said that he could call me in Minnesota and update me on the situation. I don't want to know about it if they weren't going to give me a refund. Also my friends little sister has 1 dollar stolen out of her 2 dollars she got from the tooth fairy. Also they told you that there was a hot tub. What they don't tell you that it is at another hotel, located in the spa and you have to pay $10.00 a day or $40.00 for the week to sit in it. Also they won't let view the hot tub before you pay for it. The pool at our location was freezing cold so we had to go to the royal sands for a warm pool. The beach at our hotel was full of seaweed and almost impossible to swim, due to the fact that there were sting rays and it was long seaweed. If you like what you hear definatly check it out!!

“Great Place to Stay!”

Club International

I absolutely recommend Club International De Cancun! I have 5 star taste on a 3 star budget so my expectations are often let down...but I was very happy and satisfied with our accomodations and would come back again. I have 3 negatives and 7 positives on the place. 1) The surrounding area (neighboring hotels, etc) are not as pretty so you don't get the long walks on the beach. 2) I would not count on 2 people sleeping on the murphy bed in the living room. It is definitely a one person bed (maybe 2 kids). 3) There is a pirate party ship that leaves every night at sunset and fires a loud cannon which is annoying. The 7 things I liked best about the place were: 1) dive shop onsite that was excellent (boat and dock are onsite so no buses to deal with), 2) exceptional service from everyone from the maids to the bartenders to the drivers, 3) there is a mini grocery store in the hotel that is awesome with everything you need to do meals in your condo. We did spaghetti, breakfast, sandwiches, ice cream. They really have a great selection. 4) La Palapa (the hotel restaurant) is excellent and has great prices. 5) The beach is very calm and only a couple feet deep for about 50 feet out so it would be ideal for little kids to play in safely. 6) there are sunfish sailboats that are free to use and we had a blast on them 7) there is a free shuttle that runs to the other Royal resorts. We went to the Royal Sands for one day and the Haceinda in Playa for a day. Both places were a little more upscale than our place and it was fun to have a change in scenary.

  • This TripAdvisor Member:
    • Liked — exceptional service from staff. very organized, friendly, helpful
    • Disliked — surrounding area (not bad but definitely not as nice so no long walks on the beach)

“Very relaxing !”

More than we expected ! What a great place to relax and enjoy the clean , clear amazing water . We had a 2 bedroom 1 bath unit. Room 1064. Amazing views overlooking the beach . The hotel was very clean and so was the beach . There is no waves which is nice for lil ones. We did spend a day over at The Sands, which is a sister hotel . It was very nice although it is much louder and busier . The waves there are great for boogie boarding which we did . You can rent boogie boards for 6.00 an hour. The pool water was chilly, as for the ocean ...... very warm . Our hotel was very accommodating to all of us. Bartolo's Pizza was great , its on the grounds and they deliver to the pool , room or beach . The kids loved it . The pool was was never crowded . I think at any given time maybe 10 people were in it . We did go into town to eat at the locals spots . Very good and reasonable , something not to be found near or in the hotels. If you plan on coming and have a little one that needs a car seat BRING YOUR OWN ! I was told through the rental company that one would be there upon arrival. As I received the rental I asked for the car seat , their response was " you don't need one here in Mexico ". Needless to say , it took 3 days for us to locate one 2 hours away ! Save your time and energy . Overall , no regrets . We enjoyed our stay . Isabel is a part of the concierge team and will tell you where to find all the great shops and spots to eat . Ask for her, you will enjoy all she has to offer !! Have fun !

“Resort - PERFECT ; Easter & Spring Break - Worst time to go”

Club International

5 of 5 stars
Holland , PA
Mar 24, 2008

We own another Royal in Cancun but because other family members are teachers and didn't have vacation until Easter we rented at Club International from 3/15/08 - 3/22/08. Our villa was 2 bedrooms and 2 baths for 7 adults ( we had to pay additional for the 7th adult $25/day to sleep on their sofa-But we knew this going into this vacation ).With 2 baths the Master bedroom is on the second floor - alot of steps for us 59 year olds! The beach is wide with lots of Palapas and chairs. It is kept clean and is raked each morning for seaweed. The water is clear and a beautiful shade of blue. However the depth of the bay water is only shin high - great for children. Water temp. was warm ! Their 2 pools are not heated but the outside temp. of 85 kept the pools warm enough but also refreshing. The Palapa restaurant is outdoors , open air and on the beach for great ocean breezes. The food was very good although not 5 star .There is a children's club to keep them busy and plenty of activities for the adults as well. The maid service is everyday except Sundays and holidays so save your towels from Saturday. They kept our villa immaculate. The resort staff were friendly and very accomodating.Upon check in you are given a guest card used to unlock your villa door and charge all expenditures because they take NO cash until bill is paid at the end of the week. You can also pay with Mastercard , Visa , pesos or US Dollars. The ONLY problem was the time of year to vacation in Cancun.Between spring break and Easter which is a very big celebration in Cancun , traffic was horrendous.beaches packed with people and shopping was mobbed !
Would i return to Club International -absolutely ! Would i return during spring break and Easter - NO WAY JOSE !!

“Great Resort”

Club International

Mar 24, 2008

Stayed at Club International Cancun for Spring Break March 8-15, 2008. We arrived on a morning flight and after picking up our mini van, decided to head out to resort. Arrived at the resort at 11:15 a.m. and asked if early check in was possible. Luckily, we were told we could check in but our villa would not be ready until 2 p.m. No problem, all we wanted to do was drop of f the luggage and head out to town to buy some groceries.

Villa was a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom with a wonderful ocean view. Upstairs is a king size bed with it's own t.v. and bathroom and a balcony. Downstairs had two twin beds, and the living room had a full size murphy bed as well as a t.v. and dvd. Very spacious villa for six people. Kitchenette had a stove, microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator, dishes, pots, anything you needed. Brought my own Starbucks coffee, and enjoyed having my morning cup while looking out on the balcony and the sunrise.

Resort had two pools, one is considered a children's pool since it has a shallow are and of course the adults pool. They do have a sign, that states that if you leave your belongings for a long period of time (1 hour) security personnel will remove them. Guess this helps the "towel game". Resort, never felt too crowded, though when we there, most of the crowd were older adults, didn't see many people with young children. Gardens are well maintained and resort was always clean.
Beach was very calm, though it did have sea weed, maintenance was out every morning cleaning it up. My son enjoyed playing in the beach, while his sister laid out on a lounge and read a book. My kids rented waverunners from a beach vendor, and they had a great time!

We ordered pizza from resort, two large pizzas for $210 pesos, they were great and delivered to our villa in 20 minutes.
There is also a market on site, with very reasonable prices, no need to go out and buy. Also, used the laundry on site, believe it was $18 pesos each for the washer and dryer. Some people, would drop off their clothes and leave. But I asked the attendant if there was an additional charge to have them do the guests laundry. He told me some guests did not understand that they were suppossed to do their own laundry, they are just attendants.

The resort and the staff were great!

Have a great vacation, can't wait till next year!
