We just back from 6 days in Cancun at the Le Blanc Resort and we are so sad that we had to leave that place! My boyfriend and I went for a relaxing trip and had a fantastic time. I have stayed at quite a few 5 star resorts before and I was very happy with what Le Blanc had to offer:

Arrival: We arrived at 12 noon. We were greeted with a cool towel and coconut milk. The room was not ready, but they took care of us quickly and sent us on our way to go eat and to go to the pool. We checked back at 2:30pm and our room was ready. If you are arriving early, make sure to pack your bathing suit in your carry-on so that you can easily start your vacation.

Room: We stayed in room 804. This is an Ocean front honeymoon suite with a jacuzzi tub right at the balcony window. Rooms are super clean and decorated perfectly. Maid service was great and the room was stocked with liquor, snacks and drinks daily. The view was stunning. My advice is to make sure you get a room on the 4th floor or higher. We left our balcony open at night and woke up every morning at 5:30am for sunrise.

Pool: AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING! Even on the last days of our vacation we were still taken back by the view at the main pool. This is one of the nicest infinity pools that I have ever seen! The service is also amazing. Drinks and food galore. I even ordered something that was not on the pool menu and the server happily got it for me. Go see Jose for the best service!

Beach: The beach was beautiful. If you take a walk down the beach, you can actually feel the difference in the sand in front of Le Blanc and the sand elsewhere. They must clean the sand daily. Also, there are always plenty of chairs and umbrellas at the beach and the pool. Make sure to use plenty of sunscreen. It seemed like everyone was underestimating the Cancun sun.

Spa: The only spa that I have ever been to that was as equally as nice as Le Blanc's was a Four Seasons hotel. The spa was beautiful and our couples massage was great. My only complaint is that is was not long enough! Take advantage of the free hydrotherapy during your stay.

Entertainment: We didn't do a lot while we were there, but we did swim with the dolphins at Isla Mujeres. Well worth the $150 price tag. It was an amazing experience that we will never forget. If you like to party, the hotel is within walking distance of downtown, Coco Bongo, Senor Frogs, etc. We only went to one Le Blanc show and that was the fire show. We thought it was very good and well worth seeing. My advice is to find out what night it is and go eat at the International Restaurant during the show. Sit near the window.

Food: If I have any complaint about this hotel, the food would be it. The presentation of the food is amazing and out of all of the all-inclusive resorts that I have been to, it is by far the best. With that being said, if you are a "foodie", you will be disappointed. The food is not bad and it is not good. Something is just "off" about it. I did eventually find things that I liked and stuck to them. Sushi is ok in the Asian restaurant, but stay away from the Pad Thai! Shrimp Linguini at the Italian restaurant is pretty good and the chateaubriand for two at the International restaurant was pretty good. Make good use of the grill at the breakfast and lunch buffets.

Other: If there is something you want, make sure to ask for it. They are very accommodating. We ordered a bottle of champagne and a pitcher of OJ to our room one night. Also, I was sick one night, so my boyfriend ordered room service from one of the restaurants menus. They gave him everything he wanted. Try to make an effort to meet your neighbors at the pool. Everyone was very nice and excited to meet new people. We actually met a fantastic couple who wound up knowing my brother!

Please feel free to email me with any questions. I am always glad to help! Enjoy!

My husband and I spent our honeymoon at Le Blanc Spa Resort from October 12-19, 2008 and from the minute our shuttle van drove up to the resort, we knew we had entered paradise! We were treated like royalty our entire stay.

We highly recommend time spent in the spa.....heavenly!

The food was outstanding.....gourmet! Our favorite restauant was "BlancOrient"....awesome chinese/asian food. The wine list is extroadinary! If you find a bottle you enjoy at dinner, ask your waiter to have the rest of the bottle sent up to your room! Be sure to visit the "secret" restaurant on the second level.....it is fabulous! The chef selects the menu each evening and pairs each dish with a wine.....it was incredible! We also recommend that you take advantage of the Mexican restaurant down the street at the Cancun Palace.....it was delic! You can eat at any of their restaurants as a guest of Le Blanc (A Palace Resort property), just ask the Concierge to arrange for a taxi voucher.

All of the staff were so friendly and accomodating! The waitresses learn what your favorite drinks are and they continue to refill your glass by the poolside. The bartenders are fabulous too and make killer Blue Hawaiians!

We heard that the X-Caret trip would have been a blast, unfortunately we selected a different excursion to Chichen Itza ruins......it was not worth the money spent.....the bus trip was LONG! And the ruins were just that......you can no longer climb to the top, so what is the point.....just look at pictures and you will feel like you were there. The scuba diving was fun but not as clear/great as Jamaica.

The beach was breathtaking....waking up every morning to see the water and the sun rise was sweet bliss!

The rooms were so romantic and beautifully decorated....even the toiletries were premium!

This resort is so luxurious and romantic and the prefect destination for a Honeymoon or special Anniversary getaway.

We spludged on this trip, but it was worth every penny. We will definetely be back for an Anniversary trip!

“An Absolute Delight!”

Le Blanc Spa Resort

My husband and I stayed at LeBlanc for just three short nights while Grandma looked over our two young children. Let me start out by saying my husband had been eyeing this resort for nearly two years and it was well worth the wait!

We arrived the day after Easter and a storm had just come through Cancun so the weather was overcast and a bit cooler than normal, around 73 -75 degrees but the sun did eventually shine.

Our airport experience was pleasant, people were friendly and the lines were quick. We took a taxi to the hotel for $53 w/o tip but it was well worth it. The ride is about 20 minutes and you can check out all the resorts along the way.

When we arrived at Le Blanc, they greeted us by name and a nice w/cool wet cloths. I loved the smell of the soap on the towels, finally figured out the scent after several days, same scent as the bath salts. Women are really into this stuff. Take the bath salts home.

We requested an early check-in and they showed us to our room, # 934 - amazing view. I've never seen so many shades of blue in the ocean. Our butler, Margarito was terrific. Butler service is top notch although we are not the kind if people who like others doing things for us, all we asked for was a bottle of champagne on the last day and it was waiting in our room on ice the last evening. The tub in the room could of fit our whole family and was perfect for just laying in and looking at the spectular ocean while sipping a cocktail.

My husband and I love to travel to the Caribbean but lately we've done many family all-inclusives, this is an Adults only resort. This resort is the best all-inclusive we have visited by far. The staff was gracious and almost everyone English.

All meals were awesome, the Asian restaurant was the best. My husband does not eat Asian food in NY and absolutley loved it. The Italian restaurant and well as the all the others were equally great! We enjoy lots of good restaurants and great food in NYC so we were pleasantly surprised when the food turned out to be really delicious, not your typical all-inclusive food! We took advantage of room service several times, for breakfast and some late day snacks. Each time we received a phone call follow up to make sure we received everything we requested, that's service! We had some snacks by the lagoon pool one afternoon (this is the best spot for late day sun) which hit the spot. The FOOD was absolutely WORTH every penny!

The pools were amazing and quite warm so very enjoyable for swimming. The ocean is beautiful and warm although the undertow is very strong so we didn't do much swimming. There were red flags posted everyday.

As we laid out on the beach chairs, the wait staff continually brought us drinks. No hunting them down to get a drink, they were incredibly attentive everywhere throughout the resort. An true delight!

The nightlife is very low key, some lounge music but very enjoyable. If you want to kick up your heels and go crazy, just walk out to the strip. This is not that kind of a resort which was perfect for us. The average age was about 45, so we fit right in. Many couples kept to themselves, no small chit chat but certainly it looked like everyone was content w/one another.

My only regrets, wished the weather was warmer but we can only blame mother nature for this problem.

Hated leaving but I know we'll be back!
My suggestion for those considering LeBlanc - spend the money, you will not be disappointed!

“Top Spot For All-Inclusive Vacation”

Le Blanc Spa Resort

5 of 5 stars
Chicago
Mar 26, 2008
9/10 found this review helpful

I like to start with a little about myself before I write the review so that readers may better understand what I like and how my opinions are formed.

I am married and travel with my wife.
We are 28 years old and live in Chicago so we are spoiled with amazing restaurants but suffer a terrible climate.
We like to travel for R&R so the most important elements for us are service, food, and spa.

Le Blanc is a pretty place. It is decorated with a simple elegance that is pleasing, but lacks a feeling of “richness” that I have experienced at other resorts. Art throughout is minimal and is replaced with zen-like simplicity in the architecture.

The infinity pool is the most aesthetically pleasing aspect of the hotel, as it overlooks the white sands and light blue waters of the Sea. But nothing else really grabs you. The pool bar is not decorated, there is little landscaping, even the “gazebo” (a couple of poles with a thin cover) leaves you wishing there was more.

The rooms are comfortable. Same type of décor and maybe 800 square feet. No balconies, I would have liked one, but sliding doors open wide so you can pull up a chair to the open space. Huge Jacuzzi faces an expansive window for a great opportunity for private indulgences. The bed is comfortable, nothing like a Weston (best in the biz, if you ask me) but firm and completely acceptable.

The service is outstanding. I’ve read reviews where people complain about the staff of various hotels in Mexico making them feel like they need to tip, as if they all have their hands out. Well guess what, you’re in Mexico and you are on vacation so expect it and decide before hand how you are going to handle it because it is inevitable. Don’t feel bad if you don’t tip, just don’t expect outstanding service. These people will wait on you hand and foot if you give them a little incentive. I like to build a few extra hundred dollars into the cost of the trip and use it for tipping. I find worthwhile improvements in the service.

All the restaurants had excellent service. Pool service was excellent, alcohol was not scarce in the drinks. Maid service was top notch as was room service (which is 24/7). A very refreshing and fulfilling experience.

The spa was the gem. My wife says to avoid the facial if you like deep treatment. Their treatment is more product-based than service-based. The massages are excellent and the facility in general is very impressive. Serenity and tranquility… perfectly achieved.

The food is good. This coming from 2 vegetarians from Chicago (best restaurant market in the country) should mean a lot. For even the pickiest eaters there are many options and the staff is ready to make you whatever you want. Don’t be afraid to ask for anything. I saw a couple that had caught some snapper deep-sea fishing. They brought the fish to the kitchen and asked if the chef would prepare it. Not only did they prepare it, they made a beautiful elaborate display of fish and garnishing. Very impressive considering the Japanese restaurant was terrible. Worst sushi I’ve ever had, and we love sushi, love it love it love it, eat it all the time. The rice was all wrong and the fish was over treated and colored and the flavors were just bad. The other 2 restaurants were fine.

Overall I would recommend Le Blanc. It’s not the “hot scene” or the most luxurious looking place but it has its perks for sure. If you like going out and experiencing different things and trying different restaurants then don’t stay here. Playa del Carmen (1 hour south) is really cute, has great places to eat and fun hot spots to hit that are still off the radar of the college kids on break. Also Playa is much closer to the eco stuff if you want to make some day trips. There are many resorts to choose from in that part of the Riviera.

Good luck, and enjoy.

“Very Nice”

Very nice hotel. The staff was awesome. We especially loved the scented wash clothes given to us upon our arrival and our return from tours. The bartenders remembered exactly what I was drinking without being reminded for my entire stay, even though it was a recipe created by me. My ONLY complaint was that it is not a place to stay if you are looking for fun. We go to Cancun every year and like the poolside games and the variety of entertainment activities offered at other hotels. It rained a lot the week we were their and an entertainment crew would have helped to alleviate the blahs. Le Blanc offered towel folding and sushi making as the only activities during our stay. This hotel is for those seeking absolute silence, extreme luxury, and maybe honeymooners. Again, it's a beautiful place, great service, and great staff.
