We just back from 6 days in Cancun at the Le Blanc Resort and we are so sad that we had to leave that place! My boyfriend and I went for a relaxing trip and had a fantastic time. I have stayed at quite a few 5 star resorts before and I was very happy with what Le Blanc had to offer:
Arrival: We arrived at 12 noon. We were greeted with a cool towel and coconut milk. The room was not ready, but they took care of us quickly and sent us on our way to go eat and to go to the pool. We checked back at 2:30pm and our room was ready. If you are arriving early, make sure to pack your bathing suit in your carry-on so that you can easily start your vacation.
Room: We stayed in room 804. This is an Ocean front honeymoon suite with a jacuzzi tub right at the balcony window. Rooms are super clean and decorated perfectly. Maid service was great and the room was stocked with liquor, snacks and drinks daily. The view was stunning. My advice is to make sure you get a room on the 4th floor or higher. We left our balcony open at night and woke up every morning at 5:30am for sunrise.
Pool: AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING! Even on the last days of our vacation we were still taken back by the view at the main pool. This is one of the nicest infinity pools that I have ever seen! The service is also amazing. Drinks and food galore. I even ordered something that was not on the pool menu and the server happily got it for me. Go see Jose for the best service!
Beach: The beach was beautiful. If you take a walk down the beach, you can actually feel the difference in the sand in front of Le Blanc and the sand elsewhere. They must clean the sand daily. Also, there are always plenty of chairs and umbrellas at the beach and the pool. Make sure to use plenty of sunscreen. It seemed like everyone was underestimating the Cancun sun.
Spa: The only spa that I have ever been to that was as equally as nice as Le Blanc's was a Four Seasons hotel. The spa was beautiful and our couples massage was great. My only complaint is that is was not long enough! Take advantage of the free hydrotherapy during your stay.
Entertainment: We didn't do a lot while we were there, but we did swim with the dolphins at Isla Mujeres. Well worth the $150 price tag. It was an amazing experience that we will never forget. If you like to party, the hotel is within walking distance of downtown, Coco Bongo, Senor Frogs, etc. We only went to one Le Blanc show and that was the fire show. We thought it was very good and well worth seeing. My advice is to find out what night it is and go eat at the International Restaurant during the show. Sit near the window.
Food: If I have any complaint about this hotel, the food would be it. The presentation of the food is amazing and out of all of the all-inclusive resorts that I have been to, it is by far the best. With that being said, if you are a "foodie", you will be disappointed. The food is not bad and it is not good. Something is just "off" about it. I did eventually find things that I liked and stuck to them. Sushi is ok in the Asian restaurant, but stay away from the Pad Thai! Shrimp Linguini at the Italian restaurant is pretty good and the chateaubriand for two at the International restaurant was pretty good. Make good use of the grill at the breakfast and lunch buffets.
Other: If there is something you want, make sure to ask for it. They are very accommodating. We ordered a bottle of champagne and a pitcher of OJ to our room one night. Also, I was sick one night, so my boyfriend ordered room service from one of the restaurants menus. They gave him everything he wanted. Try to make an effort to meet your neighbors at the pool. Everyone was very nice and excited to meet new people. We actually met a fantastic couple who wound up knowing my brother!
Please feel free to email me with any questions. I am always glad to help! Enjoy!
