“Loved Villas Marlin”

Villas Marlin

5 of 5 stars
Michigan, USA
May 21, 2008

We were at Villas Marlin 5/4/08-5/15/08. My daughter and her boyfriend, my son and his girlfriend and my father and myself. We had plenty of room for all.
The condos are conveniently located right ON the beach and across the street from a two story indoor mall. The bus station was right in front of that mall. Approximately 65cents to ride the bus anywhere in Cancun.
The pools were beautifully overlooking the ocean. Very relaxing with the palapas.
The condo was cleaned every other day by Landy who not only did a great job but was very helpful. Everyone from the security guards to the lifeguard were very friendly. Language was not a problem (I speak fluent Spanish), but I heard the employees speaking broken, understandable (word?) English. They did all they could do to help you enjoy your stay.
We went to the Super Walmart our first day and bought groceries for the stay. We took the bus to Walmart and a taxi back (5 people and a TON of groceries for $20)
The nightlife is very fun. There are of course clubs for the younger crowd but many clubs cater to all ages. We had a great time our last night at Coco Bongo.
Thank you to Jacky and Frank, the condo owners, who allowed us to extend our vacation after our initial reservation.
Hopefully we will be returning to Villas Marlin in the near future.

“Villas Marlin-A Hidden Gem !”

Villas Marlin

May 17, 2008

Thank you "Trip Advisor.com" for a great vacation! Our son has previously stayed at Villas Marlin several times and highly recommends it but it was the excellent reviews on this website that really helped us to decide to try a condo vacation for the first time and we are so happy we did. We recently returned with another couple from a 2 week stay at Villas Marlin. What a difference from the big commercial hotels we usually stay at! The property was quiet, peaceful and relaxing with three ocean front uncrowded pool areas, lot's of comfortable lounge chairs available and palapa's for shade. We loved the beautiful white sand beach but really appreciated the great location. Plaza's, malls, shopping centers, restaurants, water sports were all right within the immediate area. We rented a 2Bd condo from Frank and Jacky who are private owners that our son referred us to. There was more than enough room for the four of us so we had plenty of privacy. It was fully equipped and we felt very much at home. Our housekeeper Landy kept our condo spotless and was always helpful. If you really want to feel like you have taken a vacation then I strongly suggest that you consider staying in a condo at Villas Marlin. We will definetely be going back again.

“The Perfect Locations”

Villas Marlin

Villas Marlin was a great place to stay. It was soo close to everything. The mall is less that 2 minutes away so its easy access. About a 10 minute walk to the outdoor mall which is such a good mall. It was really close to the bus stop as well, most of the time we had to take the bus if we wanted to go into the city like to the clubs what not. Its quite a long walk but the bus is so cheap so its no big deal. Overall, it was a great place to stay. The location was amazing, the beach is unbelievable ( alot of hotels dont even have a beach because the water is so high ) and they are nice places as well. I really really recommend Villas Marlin!
Hope this helps, and enjoy your future trip!
PS; go to Coco Bongo, i didnt get to but i hear its amazing! ( if your wanting to go to clubs )

“Very Nice”

Villas Marlin

Mar 25, 2008

We rented the villa over Spring Break, my Best Friend, sister and our two children. Everything was as it was to be and we settled in very quickly, used the pools, the beach....and in the evenings everything was so close to commute into town and back. Overall a few minor maintenance things had to be sorted.....I think the hardest part was trying to explain in English.....what was wrong! Ha Ha Ha But all was good!

“Boring!!”

We just got back from Cancun on 3/1/08. We go to Mexico every February the last 5 years. This place was boring. But it all depends on what you are looking for. We took our 6 year old little girl. She was the only child there all week. She had no one to play with. The pools and their restrooms are all very nice and brand new since Wilma, but small. The hot tubs are not hot. 80% of the people are over 60 years old. There were Spring Breakers everynight running through the halls waking us up at 3:00 am. We rented from a Private Owner, he was very easy to deal with over the 6 month process, but we were disappointed with the unit. It was very clean though. Sheets, towels, bedspreads etc. seemed to be around ten years old. The bed was so hard that it did not move when you sat on it. The poor bartender two days in a row had zero customers. One of the reasons probably was that nachos and a drink cost me $19.00. The location is awesome, right behind the big Luxury Mall. They had tons of places to eat and shop. Chocolate City was very good. Keep in mind each unit will be different due to they are all owned by different people. Some of the units we saw were very nice. I would say if you are over 50 and want a quiet place, this place is for you.
