I visited Mexico for the first time in August '05 and if I was to visit again, I would definately return here. If you're expecting a 5* All Inclusive resort, then this is not for you, but if you're looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful, you've come to the right place.
The complex is situated at the far end of the strip meaning that it's in a quiet, but very convenient and easily accessible location (buses/taxis are very cheap and very frequent and they stop right outside the complex.) You're well out of the way of the noise (and Cancun is very noisy) and the beach is really quiet. Rocks - there is a small strip of rocks at the water's edge, but they are easily avoided if you want to swim/snorkel. Don't let this put you off. The turtles eggs were hatching really close to the hotel whilst we were here, so if the beach is good enough for them, it's certainly good enough for me!!!
The rooms are basic and as they're privately owned, the decor varies considerably. We had our beds made, towels changed and the bathrooms cleaned on a daily basis. The rooms were more than adequate and had great views. Why would you need a luxury suite anyway in a country with as much to see and do as this? Surely if you expect one, you'd be paying a lot more than these prices?
The pool area was lovely and the beach couldn't have been more easily accessible. The food at the pool bar was really cheap and very tasty and the staff there were lovely.
Overall, this place is by no means perfect. If you want silk sheets and waiter service, be prepared to pay for it. If you want somewhere that's good value, to leave your bags and relax quietly by the pool from time to time, this is the place for you.
