The Solimar Inn is a great little hotel. The rooms are a nice size and very clean, the pool is just the right size to cool down any time of day, my wife and I would go for a swim just before bedtime as Zihuatanejo weather was very warm and humid. Edison the owner is a very nice man and speaks excellent english.
The neightborhood is safe to walk around any time, day or night, the people of Zihuatanejo are friendly and helpful A very short walk to the beach with some great restaurants near by. The hotel is in a very mexican neighborhood, nice open air market and a nice bakery around the corner, I picked up some pineapple turnovers to have with my coffee on the balcony in the morning, a nice way to start the day.
If your looking to for a nice layed back vacation this is the hotel for you, I plan on returning next year to get away from the cold canadian winter.

This was a cozy little place just a walk from the beach, dowtown and market. The owners speak excellent english and were always on hand to answer questions or give us and help. Quiet, clean and cozy. If we have a chanve to go back to Zihuatanejo (which I hope we do), we will for sure stay here again. Highly recommend.

We stayed in one of the smaller suites, which had a kitchenette and fridge. We liked the personal attention from the owners, who speak excellent English (and will help you with your Spanish!) and who can recommend good local tours. Easy 5-minute walk to the Mercado Central, the beaches, the promenade, and to the town's center. A charming, comfortable place with great prices. We recommend it highly!

My husband and I and two adult children stayed here for a week beginning two days after Christmas--the "high season" for tourism in this Mexico fishing town. We would definitely go back and if we do I would take beach towels, salt and pepper, and maybe an extra ice cube maker. The location here is ideal because it is close to the central "Mercado" or market, and the meals you can eat in the market are twice as good and half as expensive as anything you can get in the "downtown" restaurants.

Although a car is not necessary in Zihuatanejo, we did rent one and enjoyed the freedom to go to all the different beaches and to stop at Commercial Mexicana (the supermarket) on the way home. On street parking next to the hotel was fine.

The hotel staff is responsive, the room is clean and cool, the pool a great amenity. Loved it!
