We stayed at Villas Vallarta from April 9-16, 2008. The rooms were clean and staff was great. We had two minor issues with noise. First one was our room was right above the Gold's Gym. Music comes on at 0700 on weekdays. We quickly changed rooms after day two. Secondly, we had a very large group of young teenagers there for our last few days. The first night was horrible. I do not think they slept at all nor let anyone else sleep. The next and remaining nights were not an issue as the hotel was able to control their behavior (tough to do with so many kids but they did). We ate all of our meals and spend most days at Cantos. If they call tht across the road OK but it really like walking down one set of stairs and up another and then you were in the hotel. The food was very average to say the least but we were able to eat at the buffet or the pool lounge pretty well any time we wished. Would not eat at the Steakhouse again. Tough when our beef is so much better but the Italian Restaurant was alright with more food than we could eat. The omelettes every morning were our favorite! Drinks were plentiful and could get them whenever we wanted them. We loved the pool and spent more days lounging under the beach umbrellas. Our trip was very moderately priced and would do it again in a heartbeat at this hotel if the price was right. On a side note we took the city buses to some beaches further away (about an hour) and would recommend doing that to anyone. For the $2.00 each it was worth it to see other beaches.
