We just got back from this little gem. Had a wonderful time and the only complaint we have is the beds but the owner told us he was ordering pillow tops for the beds so we are going back.
Mismolya is a wonderful little town and so safe, we walked all over the town at night. Make sure you go and eat at El Patio the food was terrific and the staff very friendly and a lot of fun. We went back two nights in a row. Enjoy your stay at Casa Iguana the price is right and it has everything you need for a nice relaxing vacation.

We spent three nights (for the price of two) in the Presidential suite and loved it. With the three nights for the price of two, our price per night worked out to about $141 per night including the applicable taxes. For a three-bedroom, two-bath unit, that's tough to beat. Throw in a full kitchen and a nice livingroom and it's a real deal. The pool and hot tub were both operational (hot tub could be hotter but it wasn't bad). The internet was free (we brought a laptop and were able to connect wirelessly from our room). The restaurant and bar were great (George and his daughter are great hosts and make the "worlds' greatest" of everything. The dinner waiter, whose name I didn't catch, was a great guy and the food was great.

So, what's the catch? Mismaloya is not the center of the universe. If you want the action, you'll need to go to P.V. and I would recommend that you stay in P.V. rather than commute (long bus or cab ride). After three days at Casa Iguana, we moved to the Sheraton Bouganvilla in P.V. and spent five days there. Not as nice a room in some respects and more expensive, but right on the ocean (Casa Iguana is not) and right in the center of P.V.; so, the restaurants and the shops are your oyster.

This is a terrific 4 story hotel. I recommend the top floor as you can sit on the patio overlooking the pool after a long day of exploring Mismaloya and quaint surrounding towns. There is a small market you can buy supplies for your room in case you enjoy having a cold beverage or sandwich, if you choose not to eat out all the time. There is a kitchenette with refrigerator to keep things cold. There is also a Internet Cafe, free of charge, if you wish to contact friends or family during your stay. There is also a large pool, jacuzzi and bar for your relaxing enjoyment. The Ocean is a 5 minute walk from the hotel across the street and easily accessible. On the left side of the dirt road, once you cross the street, about 1/2 way down to the beach you will see a small sign that says Juan's Restaurant. It is a great place to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner. You just walk across a bridge and it's tucked into the mountain range.
I highly recommend the Hotal Casa Iguana in Mismaloya to everyone who will visit Puerto Vallarta in the future.

We booked this bit of our trip at the last minute and my cousin found this hotel. We were a little concerned because it was so cheap but the reviews were generally good so booked. We all loved it! Value for money excellent, restaurant - not the best in the world but ok, rooms basic but cleaned well every day. Pool was good and heated when we were there - hot tub only worked the last couple of days and then not properly but we liked the relaxed atmosphere and lack of rules. Staff were lovely. Really felt like Mexico especially the street festival. There isn't much to do other than relax but we only felt the need to go into Puerto Vallarta once.
