My boyfriend and I stayed at Vallarta Torre July 29- August 5. We had an amazing time. We are a recent grad school grad and soon to be college grad. So we are young and broke. We happened onto Vallarta Torre because we got a great deal through a Network Direct package. We arrived to PV and Vallarta Torre at 11am. While we waited for check in time at 4 we had full access to the pool, beach and bar. When our room was ready we were welcomed with a bottle of cold Corona (the empty bottles could be redeemed at the bar for a free beer.)
We stayed in a room on the seventh floor. It was spectacular. The balcony had two chairs and a small table. We spent many mornings waking up on the patio. The living room had a couch, chair, kitchen table and t.v. with VCR. The furniture was not the most comfortable but we didn’t spend much time lounging on the couch. There are English speaking news channels, HBO, Cinemax, Cartoon Network and a few other cable networks. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment. The bathroom was nice and large. I was most impressed with the shower. It was stone and very large. The bedroom had a king size bed, dressing chair, large dresser and closet. In the closet was a safety deposit box that you could use for a fee. There are ceiling fans in the living room and bedroom. I turned these off because the air-conditioning was sufficient in keeping me cool.

The elevator was very small. The wait could be awhile depending on the time of day. There are stairs all the way up to the penthouse. The breezeway - style lobby was always cool. There is a travel agent in the lobby. Abraham was very helpful and honest. He helped us book a tequila tour and gave us advice on a tour to take. He told us it was a great tour but the chance of rain might limit the tour. He printed two different satellite images of the storm so we could see for ourselves. The staff in the palapa bar kept us equipped with beers. Waiters made occasional trips to the beach. We were impatient and went to the bar to grab beers on our own. The venders are constant along the beach. They are less persistent if we were napping or nose deep into a book. The front desk staff was very helpful. The entry into Vallarta Torre is beautiful. There is a lovely shaded courtyard. La Tienda is the small store on site. It has food, sunscreen and other essential items. They also sell alcohol and a few souvenir items. The staff at the entry gate is also very helpful they hailed taxis for us and carried umbrellas when it was raining.
We did attend a breakfast with a condo employee. We found this breakfast informational. We were worried that it would be a sales pitch. She never once asked us if we were interested in buying anything. I don't know if we didn't hear the pitch because we are young but it turned out to be an informative free breakfast. We ate at the restaurant at the condo. It was convenient with okay food.
We had a great time in Puerto Vallarta partly due to the fact that we had Vallarta Torre to come home to.

Old world Mexico with all the comforts of home! My husband and I visit every year with our two boys and love it more each year. It’s a timeshare so be prepared to get a sales pitch if you are not an owner. We have been owners for over 10 years and don’t regret it at all. In fact, we can’t imagine ever staying at a “hotel” again. Safe travels!

When in Puerto Vallarta this is a highly recomended Hotel. The staff are just the greatest and most have been there for many years and they make you feel your important no matter what the problem.Only down side is the big noisy all inclusive resort built right beside but dont let that detore you from experience that you will receive at the Vallarta Torrie.

“Very nice”

Fairly small resort with very courteous staff (who will recognize you because of small size), pleasant restaurant, pool and beach. Room was nice. Nothing particularly fancy, but very enjoyable none-the-less. We were here on our honeymoon (gifted a week from family), and had a great time. We consider large resorts to be annoying - e.g. the adjacent property had contests, dance club, etc that was not our thing. VT was an affordable, pleasant base for our vacation.

Re: time shares. VT may suggest a breakfast meeting with you early in your stay, which is used for general room complaints and time share purposes. This was not pressured - they were not pushy at all, and they left us alone for breakfast (on their dime) as soon as we said we were not interested in any condo information. If you are truly interested, never buy at the resort, instead buy from a reseller of timeshares in the states for approx 1/2 price... We find the Vacations International(e) system to be quite flexible with nice properties, well worth buying in if you want to vacation affordably. But don't buy at any of their resorts!

Krystal (south) is a different story. We went to their sales pitch and were immediately aware of how slimy their people were. We left promtly.

“Great week/Great place”

The resort as a whole was great. The weather was perfect all week - never had rain. Cesar , the activities director, was excellent. The beach and water volleyball games were both fun and competitive. The daily happy hour was always something to look forward to. The beach party was a great time. The vendors on the beach are persistent to say the least, but a simple NO usually sends them away. The room was a spacious one bedroom with a great view of the pool, beach, ocean. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The biggest Wal-mart I've ever ssen is a short walk away. Overall, a great place to stay, have fun and meet people. I look forward to staying here again.
