We spent 5 nights in a "two room suite" (309, 310 -- two rooms with a door connecting their porches) which worked out to $155 USD/night. I consider this price a bargain since you are right on/above the ocean and can leave the doors open all the time to listen to the sea and birds. This same kind of thing on Maui would be $300-$500/night easy. Mid-April weather was very nice, not too hot or humid and no big crowds.
Most of the other reviews have hit the high points. This is a great little place to stay. Super friendly, helpful staff; excellent location and just a little bit of Mexican "funk" to set a relaxed tone. (If you want an American-style "cruise ship" kind of bubble, try one of the big hotels on the North end of the bay, or Dreams, just down the highway from Playa Conchas Chinas.)
The hotel IS on the beach, the third floor we stayed on is below road level. The hotel is built on the hillside and rambles down it. No elevators, but this wasn't a problem.
Yes, the beach is rocky, but that didn't stop my daughter from playing in the waves for hours while Dad (me) drank a few beers on the beach under the palapa. We did have loud music on Saturday night from the (above, expensive) El Set restaurant until about 11 PM. The beach club restaurant (below) is reasonable with good food, amazing view and very friendly staff.
Hot water seemed to take a while to get to the room at times, but once rolling everything worked well.
The pool was plenty warm for us, maybe 80 degrees. If it is unheated all I can figure is that it is heating up as Summer approaches. We liked it for a quick dip after being out all day. It is lightly used and not as much hassle as going down to the beach.
It is now 6 pesos to get to town (Romantic Zone) by bus and only takes a few minutes. A taxi runs 50 pesos. Airport to PCC is 200 pesos or less -- don't pay more.
I posted some pictures of the front of the hotel -- don't let the street view fool you. Once inside, it is a little bit of paradise, and the sadder front elevation keeps the riff-raff away! :-)
