I had chosen this hotel because it had very good reviews overall. But the stay here was disappointing at best.

The Fiesta Americana had several inconsistancies right from the beginning. When we checked in for our 7-day stay, as most tourists we asked for a ocean view. The check-in attendant said, "you have a partial view of the ocean." When we arrived at the room and went out on the balcony we were greeted with the backside of a giant grass hut roof complete with pipes sticking out. It completely obscured the ocean view and most of the sky. This pretty much set the mood for the rest of the stay there.

A few days later a random staff memeber keyed into our room without knocking. When he saw that I was in the room, he said the front desk told him I needed something and sent him up. I didn't need anything and he left. When I called the front desk they didn't know anything about it.

One morning we decided to have breakfast at the Fiesta Americana instead of venturing out. The breakfast buffet had a nice spread of scrambled eggs, fruit, pancakes, bacon, etc. It was decent. It was also $20US per person.

We noticed that only sometimes we got fresh towels, turndown service, and chocolates in the evening. We thought this was tied to the amount of tip. When we inquired at the front desk, we were informed it was actually supposed to be happening every day regardless of tip. We tipped more anyway just in case. Didn't work.

The Fiesta Americana has the worst beach in our area. If you venture into the water, wear foot protection. Very rocky and painful. We ended up lounging on the beach at the next hotel over because it was better maintained.

On the day of check out, Fiesta Americana said that we owed an extra $100 for the minibar. This seriously disappointed us because we were speaking with exactly the same staff as when we checked in. We asked SPECIFICALLY if the $100 free credit with the hotel included the minibar. Then, the anwser was a decisive "Yes" from the staff. And now it was a decisive "No."

On the plus side, the rooms are very clean, comfortable and nicely maintained. The beds were firm and had two giant pillows along with two fluffy pillows.

I wouldn't recommend Fiesta Americana. Puerta Vallarta has many other places to stay that can provide excellent service as well as comfort.

I returned from a visit at this hotel on April 17, 2008. We arrived on April 12, 2008. after long day of being on an airplane, we were tired. The front desk was very rude and not accomadating. The young lady admitted the room had just been painted and would not give us another room. Well, we booked this trip on apple so they took care of the problem and we got another room. The rest of the stay was nice. This hotel is beautiful and has a nice atmosphere. |The food is the same price as you would find in the United States. I was on a vacation with my 22 year old son .
This is a niceplace for all ages and it is quiet and basically the staff is helpful and friendly. If you want sun and relaxation then this is the place for you.

Just returned yesterday. We stayed in a Club Level room on the 9th Floor. It was fabulous for the price we paid. The housekeeping was perfect, the room was exceptional. We found the Club Level service to be superb unlike the previous reviewer. We never lacked for food, plates, bowls, etc. When things got low they were replenished. There was always someone available to notify if you needed something. The only bad part of Club Level was the red wine was served room temperature the first couple of days and then strangely became ice cold. There was so much food available all day long that we could have easily not eaten out for any meals and saved ourselves a ton of money.

We did not find the bed to be hard. We never ate at the on-site restaurants so can't comment about their food. The beach was raked daily and was very relaxing with lots of palapas to shade yourself. The tropical drinks were wonderful and expensive. The pool was well maintained.

We would definitely stay here again.

Our stay was filled with hassles revolving around everything, everyday. First off, they had lost our reservation then told us the hotel was full. Once that was cleared up several hours later, we found out all the fine print that goes along with the "all inclusive" deal. We have stayed at "all inclusive" resorts before and have had wonderful times not worrying about anything we ate or drank - but beware of the "all inclusive" deal at Fiesta Americana because it is false advertising. Nothing is all inclusive. There are many, many exceptions in the menu and drink selection that are not included in the "all inclusive" deal. And, if you order any of these things that aren't included you will be paying a steep price plus gratuity plus tax on each item. Also, we could never get a straight answer about what was included because the waitstaff and bar attendants didn't even know what was and was not included, only figuring it out once the bill was put into the computer and the extra expenses were shown. This was an ordeal we went through every time we sat down for a meal.

The hotel was clean, had an excellent beach, and was in a good location but the hassels we had to deal with will keep us from ever going back or recommending it to friends.
