This was our second visit at Fiesta Americana. Last year we stayed on the top ninth floor-- more expensive, but nicer accomodations. This year we stayed on the seventh floor. We had no problem checking in, but when we asked for a hide-a-bed for our child, we were told FA don't stock rollaways. Funny, because last year they produced one in a flash.
Apparent convention or business guests pretty well took over the patio and beach area on Friday and Saturday night. We actually felt like intruders when we walked to the beach to watch the sun set. And then there were the service people pulling noisy carts loaded with empty food trays across patio tiles into the late hours.
We got an announcement shoved under the door at the begining of the week that there would be some construction work going on for three nights. From midnight until about 6AM we listened to front loaders hauling sand to the beach. Not a quality experience, but they got the work done before guests arrived for the weekend.
I will complement FA on one thing: lounge chairs are always available-- the towel birds can't cover them all. We never ate regular meals at the resort-- too many good places available in town. Walk across the street to the super mart to get your water and incidentals. The farmers were apparently burning the underbrush on the mountians, so there was a smoky haze late in the evening that cleared up by morning.
