“Las Palmas Rocks!!!!!!”

Las Palmas by the Sea

We stayed at The Las Palmas for our Honeymoon from April 19-26, 2008 and we absolutely LOVED IT!!!!! I would rate the Las Palmas as a 3 star resort, but having said that the staff is awesome, the service, food and facilities are all great!! Juan, one of the Bartenders, is THE BEST!!!!!!! Take him for Cervasas after his shift one day and let him choose the place, he'll most likely take you to a bar just across the street from the resort and you will have an absolute blast with him!!!!! The rooms are very clean and if you tip your chambermaid staff they'll do fun little extras for you like fold the towels and paper products special and leave you extras of things whenever you ask them. They're all very very grateful for any tips you give, so tip the staff well because they work very hard to keep you happy!! The food was excellent there was something different everyday at the buffet and the al la carte restaurant was great, I reccomend the Beef Range with Olive and Pepper Marinade, it's awesome!! The pools were cleaned daily and the staff kept pool areas clean of cups and whatnot. The beach is clean everyday and there are lots of vendors walking along it all day everyday selling fun things. The drinks are great and they have a ton of drinks to choose from, almost anything you can think they can make, try the Miami Vice its sooooo good!
Puerto Vallarta itself is SO BEAUTIFUL, the people are so nice and will stop and chat with you anytime. Checkout Hilo Nightclub, it's so much fun there and the drinks aren't too expensive. Be aware of the Timeshare people though, they're everywhere, but if you want to make some extra cash on your trip do one of the timeshare tours and you can make up to 300.00 US plus extra gifts, lunch and taxi fares to and from, but negotiate that with your guide when your reserving your spot before you go, to make sure you get alot out of it. Once at the timeshare presentation all you have to do is tell them it's your first time there, you don't know when you're coming back, you think next time you do come back you'll use an RV and tell them you make less then 40,000.00 a year and then give you your money and gifts and send you on your way, we made an extra 600.00 US on our trip and we spent less the an hour total at both presentations and got a ton of free booze and souvenirs, it was awesome!!
Take the bus system to tour around the Downtown/Boardwalk area of Old Vallarta, it's like an amusement park ride, it's so different from Canadian transit systems!
I really cannot say enough good things about The Las Palmas and Puerto Vallarta, I totally fell in love with it! And would stay at The Las Palmas again anytime!

I stayed at the Las Palmas By The Sea Resort for 2 weeks, and the entire vacation was excellent. I felt very comfortable staying at this resort. The people are all very friendly, and are also a lot of fun to be around. The activity guides were awesome. They made it very easy to participate in every activity, they were good people to just chill out and talk to. Room service was good, it was great to come back to a clean room everyday!
Basically Las Palmas was a great spot for a vacation. I plan on going back in the near future!

“Wish I was Still There!”

Las Palmas by the Sea

My boyfriend and I had an awsome week at Las Palmas! It's not a 5 star resort but it's a great 31/2 - 4. The staff are all very friendly, its clean, the food is pretty good for a buffet. Breakfast was the best meal, fresh fruit, omlets and waffles were great! Lunch and dinner were alright, I was hopeing for more Mexican style food. The bar drinks were ok, I got sick of them but it's all inclusive, what can you expect for the price! All the staff are very attentive, we moved rooms mid week when it was not very busy and got an oceanview room which was nicer overall. The pools are nice and we never had a problem finding a place to sit. It did get busy on the weekend we left, it was really nice and quiet the week we were there, we got to know everyone. The location was one of the best I saw. I would reccomend this place to anyone who is laid back and looking for a good time. If you want a 5 star resort try the Sheraton. If you want to book day trips use the lobby guy, he gave us a good deal and was very clear about everything. Hope this helps!

the showers were mostly cool or barely warm and very little pressure the room has little bugs on bathroom sink all the time front counter is very slow to rectify any small problems you will have to call at least twice. if you think allinclusive includes quality alcohol you will be wrong that all cost extra the only hard alcohol is the cheap crap in plastic bottles also its a pay bar for everything after 11:00 pm.the food is mostly crap i ate out almost every night breakfast is really bad unless you what fruit and cereal. as for the rooms there old,but fairly clean. they also only give you one bottle of water for the week that you have to refill at restaurant thats a joke. most of the employees are friendly so thats nice.nightly entertainment is a joke.

“Nice Hotel”

Las Palmas by the Sea

4 of 5 stars
Charlotte Area
Apr 9, 2008

This was the first time we'd been to the western side of Mexico, and I have to say it was beautiful. We had a connection in Houston going and Detroit coming home, which made for a lot of travel time.

Las Palmas was nice, clean, and drinks were plentiful. We ate the buffet every day, and I did notice most of the food was the same each day. There are enough choices that you wouldn't have to eat the same things if you didn't want to.

There are only 2 bars, and the one by the snack bar closes around 5 I believe, which made it a little crowded by the pool bar later in the day. Juan and Miguel are awesome. They only include drinks in the AI until 11 pm, which is ok if you have been "enjoying" all day. Be sure to try a Charro Negro.

We were there during spring break, there were a bunch of drinking college kids, but everyone was friendly and pretty much kept to themselves.

Our room was just a room, although we understand there were some that were spectacular.

The ocean was very cold, and only a few people braved it. The pool was also pretty chilly so we didn't get in the water much. The wind blows pretty hard every day so it makes you feel colder when you get out. There is plenty of shade around both pools, so if you get "sunned out" you can still enjoy the pool and beautiful views.
