“Excellent Vacation!”

I stayed at Las Palmas in PV and couldn't have asked for a better vacation! The hotel is awesome, especially the staff. Everyone tried really hard to make sure everyones needs were met. My room was clean every day. The bed was a bit on the hard side, a concrete slab with a mattress on top. However after a day in the sun you are tired enough to sleep on a rock, so all in all it wasn't too bad. My room was ocean view with a patio. This was my first solo trip and I couldn't have expected any better. I highly recommend the massage! $35.00 for 60 minutes. Carmen and her partner are amazing! The beach is small but the pools and patio make for a great place to sun and watch the sunsets. The adult only pool is so nice. The staff at the hotel monitor it on a regular basis, children are not allowed in this area, so relax relax relax! There is a pirate ship that cruises the bay every night, what an added feature to your pictures! The food is definitely adequate, with excellent choices. There is a nightly BBQ that you can attend, (reservations required) and an ala cart resturant that you are allowed to attend once a week. The hotel location is really convenient to alot of other places in PV. I caught a bus and went to the malacon for a days visit. Amazing sand sculptures were being built for the Easter holiday. PV is a safe place to wander around in, even alone! I would definitely stay again at Las Palmas, in fact I'm already planning a return trip.

“Fantastic & Safe Holiday”

We have just returned from a week at Las Palmas by the Sea. The hotel covers all your needs in safe travel, and we have never experienced such incredible service before. We didn't want to leave the peace and tranquility of the hotel. We were just expecting a few nibbles but breakfast is a lovely continental spread with cheeses, fruit, pastries etc. Quite difficult to fit in any meals out after all that!
During the afternoon it's literally so relaxing you can nap by the pool or ocean. The pools are lovely, one for the kids with activities, one for the adults with a hot tub. The security/pool attendants were wonderful.
Overall I would say this is probably the best/warmest hotel we have ever stayed in on holiday!
The view is FANTASTIC! Ask Juan to make you his famous Mojito or as his Canadian friends call it a Juanjito!

“Absolutely Fabulous at Las Palmas”

We went to Puerto Vallarta for the first time. We have 2 kids (12 year old girl, 15 yr old boy). The four of us stayed for 2 weeks. It was the best 2 weeks I think I've ever had.
The kids had alot to do all the time. There were many activities through the rec coordinators so the kids were always busy. usually too busy to hang out with us (that was OK by me). It probably wouldn't be that great for kids under 10 yrs.
The hotel is older and smaller than alot of the hotels, particularly the new monster hotels they are building in Nuevo Vallarta. But, we were 30 seconds from the ocean, our deck and pool were 20 feet from the ocean and the atmosphere was more of what we were looking for when we booked the trip. We didn't want a huge flashy hotel. We wanted to experience Vallarta Mexico and we were able to do that at Las Palmas by the Sea.
The rooms were good, nothing flashy, but we didn't spend a whole lot of time in them. The food was good and the a la carte was excellent.
I think the staff at the hotel made the trip a 5 star trip. They were pleasant, friendly, and very helpful. Most of all, they seemed very sincere, which is something that isn't all that easy to find in large tourist areas.
We are both white collar professionals from blue collar backgrounds, so we prefer a more blue collar atmosphere. If you like friendly, outgoing, down to earth people, who enjoy a good fiesta, then you would really enjoy Las Palmas by the Sea. If you want to experience Vallarta for its culture and atmosphere, while still being really well looked after, then this hotel would be for you.
We will definitely go back again.

“We got what we paid for”

Las Palmas by the Sea

My wife and I stayed 2 weeks in an oceanview room. This room met our expectations as described and shown in the photos. The beds are very hard (mentioned before in tripadvisor) and found out near the end of our stay that an extra foamy can be added if you ask at the front desk. We were lucky enough to be at the end of the hall, as the Spring Break crowds were loud when returning from the bars early in the morning. Security was present, but did not attempt to enforce rules on the kids. The resort bars were very busy when the kids were awake and at times should have had more help. I recommend not staying during Spring Break unless your ambition is to keep up with the young crowd. The pools were quite cold and needed the daily sun to make them enjoyable. Even the Jacuzzi was only luke warm. So much for an afternoon siesta also - music was played loudly around the pool daily from 1-4pm. I did not see any of the shows provided, and cannot comment on them. Food quality and variety was okay, and available between 2 locations for the most of the day and evening. We certainly did not starve. The resort staff made up any shortfalls we encountered, and were always helpful and likeable. They are responsible for boosting my overall rating on this hotel from average to above average.. The beach was also one of the nicer ones in the whole area, with no rocks or gravel.

“Great Vacation/Honeymoon”

My husband and I stayed at Las Palmas by the Sea when we went to Puerto Vallarta for our honeymoon. The resort is not the most luxurious you will find in Puerto Vallarta, but the people who work there are the most friendly people we found. They work very hard to insure that your stay with them is perfect. Every meal has plenty of options for everyone, the drinks are great, and the nightly shows are always entertaining. Las Palmas by the Sea also sits on the best strip of beach on Puerto Vallarta. We visited a few other resorts when we were on excursions and we commented many times that the beach at Las Palmas was the best that we had seen.

The only negative comment I have about the resort is the bed and pillows, which are very hard. We did ask for different pillows and they were right there with new ones to try to make us more comfortable.

If you want friendly faces and service, this is the resort to go to! Oh and reserve a spot it in the grill at least one dinner there, you will not be disappointed!!
