“charming artistic”

Hacienda Hotel & Spa

We found this lovely treasure to be a pleasant surprise. Oldies (ages 64 and 68) we basked in the warmth of the sun, the hotel staff, the turquoise clean pool and hot tub, and loved all the deliciously prepared food at 3 stations (no lining up). Cheerful waiters, and bar staff were available at all times and our wishes were their command. The plumbing worked (no struggle with the toilet as one does with the arrogant English toilet) The shower also behaved, and turned on at a perfect temperature (no wrestling with the hot and cold) and didn't send piercing jets right at your chest or nether regions.
There was also a sweet niche in the shower stall for the soap, at a "just right " level , so no grappling for the soap (obeying Newton's Law) as it hits the floor. It didn't happen. Lots of fresh white towels too. Harmonious pieces of artwork, including large (about 2 feet in diameter) candles, eye-catching tiling, and subdued lighting are part of the charm of this hotel and along with the swaying palms, drecenas and other garden bushes and colourful flowers, well these complaining Canadians had absolutely nothing to complain about. We Loved it.

Loved the Hacienda. My hubbie and I went there for my 40th b-day and received nothing but extraordinary service. Room was very quaint. Nice quiet get away even though we were there when the students were there for spring break. Yes, the beds are hard but you dont want to spend a lot of time in them when there is so much to see and do. If you are into the club scene they always offered a special each night. We found a pleasent little alcove in the hotel to have coffee and desserts late at night. Food was spectacular. Theme each night. Loved Mexican night on Fridays. They put on a special show for the guests. Breakfasts to die for. Fresh fruit every morning. The front desk was very accomadating and if we ever had a problem they were right on it. I guess if you treat people with a little respect you will get incredible service. Will definitly be going back and taking my children next year.

“Nice Place”

We stayed at the Hacienda in Feb. and for the price we paid I thought it was a very nice. It was clean and the food was good. The beds were decent and we had a room with a tub which was very nice, we upgraded to that room and it was worth it. Its charming old mexican style and not like those modern big hotels we are use to at an all inclusive which was one of the reasons I liked it so much. If you are looking for a party scene this isn't the place for you but if you want a reasonable, quaint quiet place to stay you won't be disappointed. Also the pool is very nice and there was always a lounger to sit on.

“Exceedingly Hard Mattresses!!”

Hacienda Hotel & Spa

I was glad i was only staying a week after sleeping on the exceedingly hard mattress. Although the staff tried their best to add extra blanets to soften the mattress, it did nothing to help. The Sunquest rep and management from the hotel did not rectify the problem either. Joel was not accomodating at all. As i result i will not stay at this hotel again. I felt like i had done a full day of manual labor after sleeping on the bed.

The workers were wonderful. We were on the all inclusive plan but chose to eat our dinners each evening at other restaurants because the evening meal was mediocre. Breakfast was wonderful, and we quite enjoyed the mexican fare at the beach club snack bar. We felt we still did have good value from the all inclusive plan, despite not eating our evening meal there.

The hotel was very disorganized about the activities they offered. While they advertised kayaks available, they are actaully only available for one hour on certain days. If you're looking for the boogie boards, go to the kids club. We found them there by accident, staff at the front desk and beach club didn't know they had them available, despite the advertising them on their website.

The price is right, and this was my second stay at the Hacienda. The bed was much more comfortable on your previous stay. There will not be a third stay though, on account of management's inability to provide a reasonably comfortable mattress.

“Decent hotel for price”

Hacienda Hotel & Spa

Mar 6, 2008

Stayed for a week at the Hacienda.
Upsides to hotel -- beautiful authentic feel, friendly staff, lots of fun planned activies, one block from beach, serene spa area, great location for all parts of Vallarta.
Downsides -- since the hotel is right off the main street, can get quite noisy, between the beach and hotel there is currently quite a bit of construction which can detract from the beauty of it all, not that many amenities, no elevator so if you're elderly or just lazy you might wanna request a 1st floor room, the beds are a bit hard and uncomfortable.
Over all, this hotel is good, but you definitely only get what you pay for. If you're looking for a big beautiful 5 star resort, this is not for you.
