Great Location, Great Pool, Clean Rooms and a Great Price
Gotta try that Oasis Restaurant across the street. Best meal I have ever eaten.

Business serviceThe pool was filthy. Our room was filthy. And if you think they change the spreads between customers. Think again. I won't tell you what we found in our bed. Disgusting!
When they did clean the rooms it wasn't done well. They would take our old towells and not replace them with new ones. We would have to go to the front desk and ask for new ones.
Oh yeah the front desk. Do you think they could smile? Really nasty dispositions.
The pool was disgusting. It was not clorinated once while we were there. It has a dolphin at the bottom of it that you could hardly make out most days. The water was always murky. Yuck!
And the poor turtle pond. Most people used it as an ashtray. It was never cleaned. The place is falling apart. Everything is cracked or in need of paint.
If you're gay, they don't want your business. They put you on the old side of the building. We were told that on the beach by the locals. Kids run up and down the halls at all times of the night. It was a nightmare. Would never go back there again!!!
We had a superior room which was clean, big and had a wonderful view, although it was already a little faded.
Nice pool too.
The staff at the reception was somewhat uninterested and for the TV remote they wanted a deposite.
Don´t book it with breakfast, we did and the breakfast was not worth it.
Better go into town and find yourself a nice restaurant there are plenty.

ServiceWe checked into the Tropicana after a bad experience at another hotel in PV. I had read about it in a travel guide and it was everything we hoped for and more. We had an ocean-front room in the new building and loved it! The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. There was a gorgeous pool and beach access with complimentary chairs and umbrellas. The front desk was extremely helpful in assisting us with reservations for dinner and tours. They were always friendly and willing to help. For the price, the value is unbeatable. I would recommend Tropicana to anyone!

Business serviceI stayed at this hotel for the 2nd time in late October of 2007 (1st stay was late October, 2006). Since I was very happy with my stay the first time, I was anxious to see if I would feel the same way on my return visit. The answer was definitely YES. We even brought friends along on this trip and they agreed that the hotel was great.
The Tropicana is simply decorated, clean, convenient and the staff is very helpful. We stayed in a Superior room in the new section and loved it. Again, the rooms are simply furnished but nicely sized, clean and have plenty of storage. We definitely were not tripping over suitcases. The bathroom has a nice big shower and there's plenty of room for toiletries. The balcony was very large and had 2 chairs and a table. The view was outstanding. Maid service was very good and our room was always cleaned before noon. There are pitchers and glasses in the room and purified water available in the hallway of every floor. We always had friendly & prompt service (front desk, beach towels, beach chairs, bar and beach service). With all the great restaurants in the area we never ate at the hotel. The beach area is great and we always got a palapa (of course it was off season so no crowds). The pool is small but it was clean and refreshing. The pool, bar and restaurant areas overlook the ocean and are very nicely landscaped. The pool area makes a nice getaway when the vendors on the beach become a bit too much.
The location of the hotel is excellent. There are many bars, restaurants, shops all within easy walking distance. This year we never used a cab except for to and from the airport. To us, that's a real treat. The hotel is right in "Old Town" or "The Romantic Zone", but it's on a quiet street so the setting is peaceful. It's an easy 15 minute walk via the beach & malecon to downtown. I've been many places in Mexico and the location of the Tropicana just can't be beat.
I highly recommned this hotel and will be back again next year.
