Seventh time in Puerto Vallarta--first time at Los Arcos Suites. By far our favorite. Staff very accommodating and our suite was quite nice. We enjoy being in town much better than out in the hotel district. Stayed out in hotel district 3 times and at Playa Los Arcos 3 times. Los Arcos Suites suited us the best. Have already booked for next year.

I have just returned from Los Arcos Suites, at least my 15th time to stay in this property. It is many times confused with the other 2 Los Arcos hotel properties and often reviews of this hotel are simply in error, not this hotel but one of the others.

The hotel is an 'L' shaped, four story building that's a block and a half from the beach. There is parking in front of the hotel, the long side of the 'L' where the majority of the rooms are located. Rooms with numbers ending in 1-5 on this side have a separate bedroom that can be closed off from the living room and dining area. Rooms ending in 6-7, also on the front of the building, are more open with bed, sitting area and table all together. All these rooms have a fairly large balcony overlooking the street. On the short end of the 'L' are rooms ending in 8,9,10. These are smaller, with a small balcony overlooking the pool, quieter,and get lots of afternoon sun. All the rooms have a small refrigerator, 2 burner cooktop, coffee pot and toaster. There are cups, plates and flatware which are inventoried before you checkout. I have stayed all over this hotel and have never had a problem with the a/c, there's cable tv , phone and inroom safe. Pool is average size and mostly shaded. There is no restaurant or bar at this particular property.

The frontdesk staff are always pleasant and helpful and there is a manager floating between the 3 properties who will come if you have problem you cannot resolve with the desk staff. You can use the beachclub and restaurants at the larger Playa Los Arcos hotel and charge food and bev to your room while there if you want. During the high season I have met several couples who are in the hotel for 2-4 weeks at the time so you sort of get a good feel that it is not spring break mentality but quiet and peaceful.

On checkin you are given a towel card that you have to go over to the beach to retrieve the towel. You get it back each day when you turn in your towel. Don't loose it or you will be charged.

The lobby of this hotel is open air and other than the dead of summer there is a nice breeze coming through and several couches and chairs where you can sit and read. There are a few books there for loan, let by other guests.

The price and location of this hotel is what makes it a great choice for this section of town. Sure, there are deluxe hotels along the hotel zone but for your dollar in this Olas Altas area you won't go wrong here. It is clean, large enough rooms with enough amenities that I will continue to return to Los Arcos Suites every chance I get.

We have nothing but good things to say about Los Arcos Suites.Very well maintained,accomodating front desk.Great location to every thing in old
town including Adales.We have stayed there twice and will be there again March 2006.Great alternative to all inclusive which takes you away from the real PV.Try doing the Cal Thorsteinson along the Malecon.

Ok there is three Los Arcos hotels the one on the beach,one small one across street and the Los Arcos suites which is across from the small one.We stayed at the Suites because the beach one was full.We ended up with a room 1 bedroom with great balconly overlooking the great city streets and a ocean view at end of street.They had working air,cable tv,decent shower pressure and clean rooms. Good deal 100 per night with every third night free.I liked hearing the city noise at night but if I didnt all i had to do was close the patio door and turn on A.C.I am glad i did not stay at beach one because you can use their pool and you dont have to deal with all the tourists.I would recommend a few close restraunts...cafe san angel"great crepes"and a french bakery sorry don't know the name but its just a few streets over heading away from beach best quiche i ever had,a real french pastry chef works there.The seafood on the stick from the vendors was real good 3 sticks for 5dlrs.I was planing on partying alot there in mexico but ended up doing a lot of relaxing which was fine with me.Town seems more geared towards the older crowd.There area of town is known as old vallarta and seems to have the most culture in Vallarta.
