“Poor service”

Fiesta Inn Acapulco

Problems started at check-in. They said they didn't have my reserve, even I had checked in their own call-center day before my arrive. They said they received a mail from travelocity saying that reserve was cancelled due my credit card didn't accept the charge. I asked for the mail and of coiurse they didn't have any. They said they had rooms and if I wanted I may have one but at a different rate. I asked for manager and after 45 minutes and shopwing them travelocity confirmation mail they accepted my reservation was correct. My surprise was great when after checkin, one person from a vacation program the hotel promotes ask me for a few minutes to speak aboput it, and HE SHOWED MY NAME ON A LIST PRINTED BY THE HOTEL OF ALL PEOPLE THEY WERE EXPECTING TODAY.
Then came the terrible smell in the floor, I went to another floor to check and all smelled like garbage.
Even they charge for everyone in a room I never got enough towels or bathroom supplies. We were 3 but only two towels and two of everything.
One of the elevators was turned off most of the time, so one had to wait long time for it to come.
There is no safe in the rooms, so I had to leave my laptop at front-desk, but I had to show my passport everytime I left it, but not at pick-up. Isn't that stupid??
And so on, so many details you will get bored. If you want to have a good time during your vacation, don't go to this hotel.

“Fantastic, Wonderful, Clean”

Fiesta Inn Acapulco

5 of 5 stars
Malibu

We just returned last night from Acapulco, stayed at the Fiesta Inn for 4 nights. Really wonderful. We started in room 1212, nice with some views, but moved to 1011 for a superb view of the other side. We would sit on our patio and just soak up the beauty. Rooms were very clean, comfortable, no complaints at all.
The best thing is the access to restaurants (hotel food just too expensive and why go there, when you have Vips and Sanborns 2 buildings away (like Denny's but way better), across the street and down a block is 100% Natural restaurant, a great pasta place across from hotel, Forze Italiano I think, and way, way cheaper. We never paid more than $20 for my husband and I to have a meal and we ate very well.
Taking the blue Costera bus costs 5 pesos per person (5.50 with air con) and you can stop anywhere, for 50 cents a person, they come every minute, I'm not kidding, wow! We took the bus constantly, to the Zocolo (downtown area, cathedral), to Fort San Diego (fantastic historical museum, ask them to open the rooms for you), Papagayo Park, beautiful buildings of the Convention Center, La Quebrada cliff divers, the beaches, the bay, great to walk around, really fantastic!
You can take the shuttle from the airport, $10 per person, and call them to pick you up to return, same $10 per person.
There are beautiful shopping malls like Beverly Hills, there are plenty of upscale places and family places. We walked for hours on the Costera, exploring the area. We had excellent tacos at Tacos Orientalex, they make them to order.
I just can't say enough on how nice the hotel was, and what a good time we had. We love the location, you can walk anywhere. We also went to Las Brisas for breakfast and to experience it, beautiful, delicious, attentive, but not easy to get places from there. The chapel on the hill with the big cross is near there, a beautiful, spiritual, lovely place.

“Would Definitely Stay Here Again!”

Fiesta Inn Acapulco

May 28, 2008

I booked this vacation through Mexicana Vacations (which booked it with Expedia) and stayed with a friend for five nights between May 22nd and May 27th.

We booked our roundtrip airport transfer with Acuario Tours - it was only $24/pp round trip. They were on time both from and to the airport. Courteous, professional, friendly, etc.

Check in at Fiesta Inn was at 3pm and when we arrived around 1pm, our room was ready. We stayed in a Deluxe room - #1417.

We are two females from New York who are avid travelers - although we like to experience the local culture, we still know and enjoy luxury!

Acapulco is by no means an upscale town (should have done moe research). There are no upscale stores, no upscale restaurants...probably a lower class to mid-class town. ALL of the hotels had predominantly Mexican vacationers - mostly from Mexico City and other Mexican cities...but overall we enjoyed our vacation!

ROOM
-Fantastic corner room on the 14th floor
-Amazing king size bed
-Amazing view of the Acapulco Bay
-Maid cleaning daily
-24hr room service -
-was immaculately clean

HOTEL
-very nice with marble floors on each floor
-front desk personnel very friendly and spoke English well enough
-restaurant - beautiful view of Acapulco Bay - do not eat the breakfast - very bland and non-optional for $19 per person
-24 hr room service - the dinner food was very tasty and we tended to order after partying, like 2am in the morning and they came within 10-15 minutes each time
-felt completely safe at all times!

FOOD
- I recommend the hamburger and fried chicken tacos from food service - very good!
-La Flor Restaurant - authentic mexican food about two blocks from hotel on side street - belly fulling breakfast buffet on Sunday (maybe saturday too!) cheap! cheap!
-La Tortuga - highly recommend - the mixed food platter and coconut icecream were was amazing! the staff was very friendly

-LOCATION
-great location, in the heart of everything
-24hr Oxxo (think 7-eleven) on every third corner
-three blocks away from all the beach night clubs

-PARTYING/DISCOS
-we went to the "hyped up" Palladium and Mandaras -DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AT THESE CLUBS!!!
-stadium-like seating
-you can only sit at "open-bar" tables - further away from the dance floors
-the seats closer to the dance floor are reserved for bottle service
-the drinks suck!
-the music sucked even more!!
-the view of Acapulco Bay was great though
-recommend Paradise Club - that's where the nice mixed crowd was Thursday, Friday,Saturday and Sunday night! Feel free to dance on the make-shift stages!! :)

EXCURSIONS
-don't waste your time, except for maybe a:
-city tour
-trip to Mexico City
-do not do the Aca Rey boat cruise unless you really want to join the locals!

MISCELLANEOUS
-Internet usage was $3USD/hr - a bit high, but ok
-security deposit box behind the front desk - very safe to use!

Overall, if you're into exclusivity, I recommend you purchase a time-sharing or stay at an all-inclusive resort in the "hills".
And if you're really into luxury, don't even think of coming here - unless you stay at the Fairmont or Ritz-Carlton.

But, if you want to experience Acapulco, bargain shop at the markets, eat great food and party a lot...this place is definitely recommened!

“Great Find!”

Fiesta Inn Acapulco

May 19, 2008

We stayed at The Fiesta Inn Acapulco from April 24-27. We took an overnight bus from Mexico City and arrived at 7am on the 24th. We were worried because the hotel confirmation said check-in wasn't until 3pm. When we arrived the front desk staff was very nice and we were able to check-in at 9am. They held our bags and we relaxed by the pool until our room was ready.

Rooms:
The hotel was very modern inside. The rooms were clean, spacious and we had a great view of the bay.

Hotel Restaurant:
We only ate at the hotel restaurant once, but were very satisfied with our meal.

Pool:
We didn't swim in the pool, but it was very clean and one overlooked the ocean.

Beach:
There isn't a beach directly in front of the hotel, but there are stairs that lead to the beach next to the hotel. We were at the beach the entire day! We rented chairs and an umbrella from a very charming man named Ramon. He took care of our needs everyday. We brought us buckets of Coronas, food from restaurants, and gave us tips on things to see. He's also the resident lifeguard. He ran into the ocean a few times to help some kids out. The ocean is very rough.

Try the fresh fruit with lime and chili powder....it's delicious!

Nearby Restaurants:
Bethos- Great for Surf and Turf. You can walk to it from the hotel. If you sit outside you can view the bungee jumpers from the restaurant beside it.

Sights:
Cliff Divers. It was about a $10 us dollar cab ride from the hotel. We went to the 7pm show. We had a great view. It probably lasted about 15 minutes. We had a great time and it was nice to see Acapulco from a different view.

Tip:
There are some convenience stores across the street from the hotel. We brought our bottled water and snacks there.

Overall it was a great trip and we were very pleased with the hotel.

“Lovely hotel”

Fiesta Inn Acapulco

5 of 5 stars
Sault Ste. Marie, Canada

I can see why Tripadvisor members rated this #11 of all the hotels in Acapulco. This was one reason I booked it (great place at a reasonable price). By booking online last fall, I was able to get a room at about one-third the rate posted in the lobby. For a few dollars more, get the deluxe room. The Fiesta Inn is a beautiful, clean, friendly hotel with a superb location--central and right on the beach. It's on a bit of a rocky point that juts out, so you have a great view down the rest of the beach.
We got off our cruise ship at 8:30 am and went directly to the hotel (where else could we go?). Although check-in isn't until
3 pm, they were kind enough to let us in an available room. It was a beautiful big room on the top floor overlooking the beach and the bay. There are two outdoor pools, one with a bar. There's a nice restaurant beside the pool. We found the hotel to be very quiet--it didn't seem to attract the spring breakers the way other hotels did. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Very happy with this hotel!
