“Great resort with private beach”

Stayed there for 1 week while traveling on business in PR. Awesome establishment and great location. Quiet, family friendly place.

Great selection at the buffet breakfast in the restaurant (cost: $15 including tax/tips). Dinner menu was pretty good too.

Only downside is that I'm in the office and not in the hotel during the day (8am to 6pm), so I hardly get to see what the beach is like in the afternoon. I did manage to go to the beach on the Saturday morning and there was hardly anyone.

“Quaint, very quiet but friendly.. the wildlife will eat breakfast with you!”

Rincon Beach Resort

Stayed for a couple of days in July. Paid $180 for ocean view. Rented a car. See iguana story below !

Pros:
1. Very quiet - the whole town of Rincon is very sleepy to begin with.
2. Missed the sunsets due to bad weather, but this hotel should have terrific views
3. Gym has a Bowflex (a lot of fun!) and a nautilus machine and a stationary bike. Room is small, but very clean.
4. Rooms is small but for the price/location - bathroom small, but has soap and shampoo dispensers in the shower
5. Pool is small, but has a swim-up bar
6. Friendly staff
***7. Witnessed an interaction between a crow and an iguana - the iguanas eat bread.. so do the crows.. things got ugly !!***

Cons:
1. Maid opened the door while I was changing - Again !
2. Beach is littered (ie. glass) and rather limited in beauty
3. The town/hotel are rather far from other tourist attractions - 90min to Parguera and 60min to Jobos Beach

  • This TripAdvisor Member:
    • Liked — Seeing the Iguana and Crows punch each other out.. very good drinks !
    • Disliked — Breakfast - Salmon not fresh, yellow tinge on edges, crows, bugs and iguanas didn't come near it. Closer attention to food quality is needed !

“Isolated Paradise- A Must!”

Rincon Beach Resort

I had read many great reviews on here, which helped me to narrow down where to stay that I promised myself I would return the favor. I had made no prior reservations, wanted to do a spontaneous check in for my birthday. We drove up to the hotel from Ponce Airport and arrived around 9am. We asked for availability and price for that night on June 22. If they didn’t have any rooms available, we were going to spend the night with family. Not only did they have an Ocean view King size room available @ a great rate of $199 (Room 404), they also were able to have the room ready for us by 9:30 am. Talk about early check-in! The place was isolated. Perfect for what we wanted- isolation. It's like we had the hotel all to ourselves. Not until that evening and the following day did, the groups of people start arriving. I think many of the natives go there for weekend getaways. If the natives are paying to go there, then it must be good. The Piña Colada's @ the swim up bar were the best I've ever had. They have just the right amount of rum. Exactly what a Colada is suppose to taste like. The room was very clean, a little on the small side, but perfect for a couple. They were doing some renovating, which did disturb our midday nap around late afternoon, but I guess since it was the low season and they don't want to close down to complete all renovations, this was the best time to do it. The front desk was great. Omar gave us great suggestions on where to dine outside of their resort. They did not force us to stay and use their restaurant, which I thought was great customer service. Check in and check out was a breeze. Internet service was located in the lobby/bar area only. They had live entertainment (salsa) until about 11pm. Overall, a great experience. The only negative, but nothing that would stop us from going there again is the overpriced rentals for kayaks and other water equipment and the closed gift shop. We are already planning for another trip solely to the resort.

“Fabuloso!”

It was a fabulous experience. We visited the Rincon Beach Resort on June 24-25. La Noche de San Juan, a local pagan feast in celebration of St. John Baptist, birthday. At mid-night everyone goes in the water backwards for good luck! The hotel and all the staff were the fantastic. The restaraunt a bit expensive but a excellent quality gourmet, take the 39.00 special it is worth every penny. I do agree with others YOU DO NEED A CAR...

“Great Hotel - Beautiful Beach!”

Rincon Beach Resort

Jun 25, 2007
3/3 found this review helpful

I just returned from a stay here on June 18-20th with 3 other travelers who were in their 20s. I am a frequent, somewhat discriminating traveler, with this being my 3rd trip to PR. This facility was a nice suprise. First tip: as already stated by other reviews, you definitely need a car! I got a great deal through Hotwire. The hotel was immaculate. We arrived at the hotel at 1 a.m. and the hotel had our rooms waiting for us. The front desk was extremely helpful and pleasant. The beach is just lovely! It is very private and the hotel was pretty empty so there was not much activity, which is what we were looking for. Just relaxing on the beach was fabulous. If you are looking for tons of stuff to do, this might not be the place for you. We did not eat at the hotel, in part because the facility did not offer full menus due to the fact that the hotel was so empty. However, we got some good recommendations that we tried that worked out well for us. If you take 115 to 402 to Rte. 2, there is a McDonalds, Walgreens and a place called Bonanza Supermercado. It is a supermarket with a cafeteria counter inside with some of the yummiest food we ate! And it was very reasonably priced. Also, if you exit 115 to your left from the resort, there is a place on your left called Panaderia, which had some yummy breakfast. Further up on your right, there is a restuarant called Rincon Tropical - the most authentic food we are there! And again, reasonably priced. Check-out was a breeze and parking was free. All in all, a good place for hanging out and relaxing!
