The hotel is excellent value if you just require clean accommodation and a base to move around from. I was on a few missions while there so it was perfect for me as I also hired a car and drove from Negril to Kingston, Negril to Mo'bay, etc.
The service was very good and any problems I had were dealt with straight away such as the aircon dripping water and creating puddle behind the dresser, I think this is normal for aircons, so after it was mopped I just put towel down.
I didn't rate the restaurant food much as it seemed quite dry and not what I would call very West Indian. The cocktails were nice. Being right on the beach was convenient when you wanted to go for a swim to cool down, I even went in the sea at night as the lights from the hotels provide enough light (I wasn't unaccompanied though just in case I drowned!!).
There is sports right on your doorstep on the beach, and although I only went on the jetski as didn't have time to do much else, the water is so calm that just floating on an inflatable raft was heaven.
I also went to the Reggae Sumfest which is held every year in July and saw a lot of my favourite artists. I had a VIP pass (for a little more expense but well worth it as you don't get jostled and pushed in the crowd where the normal ticket holders are)
I was a single female travelling (but used to the Jamaicans as have family there although its been 13 years since I was last there). I didn't feel threatened and the people were very friendly.
