My wife and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary at Dreams Punta cana May 5-10. First the bad part then the good.
Our luggage didn't arrive until the next day around 5pm so missed a nice dinner the first 2 nights because our wardrobe was in Atlanta being rummaged through by the airlines I chose.
Stole my running shoes. Also the first day was spent switching rooms because they first 2 had hardly any cool air-conditioning.
Finally got one that was comfortable and a great view of the ocean. Room 9301. If you get that room you will love it. Perfect everything. The front desk was very eager to accommodate our requests and were great. The concierge, maides and everyone working were great, friendly and eager to make our time nice.
Had a blast at the pool and beach. Snorkling and body surfing was my favorite. We did not go on any excursions as we just wanted to spend our time together in the resort. Plenty to do.
The bars were awsome. El-presidenta can't wate till they import that to America. Best beer in the world.
The food.....Well some good and some bad. Our favorite was the Japanise bar and The Oceana. Breakfast got boring but did the job. Oh well was not there to get all fat anyway..haha
Everything else was paradise! The pool was great. Never had a hard time finding a place to sit by the pool or a float to float on.
The bartenders were awsome and made most drinks I liked perfect. Best Rum in the world also.
Get a Sammy Sosa or a dirty monkey. Yummy and gets you hammered. I will try to post my favorite picture. One I took off my balcony at 6am. Beautiful. Something I enjoyed every morning before heading out for the day and night.
Coming back....Yes our luggage left in Atlanta again. Got it the next day at around 5pm. The airport in DR was a pain. No organization at all but you what do expect standing in a third world airport.(grass Hut).. Yes it is a giant hut. Plan on about 3 hours to get through customs and getting your luggage checked in. Two different lines.. Both a quarter mile long.
First you get in a long line then they check you baggage. Inside every one. Then you get in a line right next to that one to check your luggage in and get you bording passes. I'm laughing, thinking about all the people that are sitting in those lines right now saying there has to be a better way..haha
Folks, that's about it. Like I said some great and some not so great. Would I go back? yeah but I will chose a direct flight and a different airline.
Hope this helps as these all helped us make our decision to go there.
Happy Vacationing!!!
