If you can visit the Meiji Shrine on a Sunday morning you might get a chance to see a wonderful part of Japanese culture. I went on a Sunday in mid-May and it was alive with activity. There was a tea master’s ceremony going on, along with several traditional Japanese Shinto weddings. With all the excitement going on it is easy to forget you and in downtown Tokyo and not a rural, tree covered village. Even if you can't make it on a Sunday see the shrine that is the most important and beautiful in the City.
