As a single traveller, I was well recieved. The ambiance through modern is very warm. My room, on the 25th floor with a panaramic view, was large, well appointed, and spotlessly clean. I loved the Japanese bath, fluffy robes, and the Somo bath products were the best. I am not a good sleeper but I needed a wake-up call. The bed was divine. I loved the crisp linens and long to buy the duvet (if only I knew where).
The young evening porter at the Transportation Desk directed me to a nearby bookshop to find a Japanese comic book for a Christmas present and assured me the area was safe. It is an area where there are lots of people out on the streets and I, too, was out walking and shopping late in the evening feeling a sense of adventure in the air. At 9:45 p.m., the bookstore was packed and I found a variety of comic books from which to choose.
The only glitch was supper in the Carmelo room after a late arrival from Kyoto. When the restaurant manager was made aware, he took care of the problem and the next morning when I arrived for breakfast, he greeted me warmly and was very attentive to my needs.
I would happily stay at The Cerulean on my return trip to Tokyo. I would like to get to know the Shibuya area better.....Los Angeles, CA. Resident
