Hot Water is a Problem

It takes several minutes for the water to be hot. Internet connection is expensive and slow. As we arrived, we were approached for time sharing meeting and this is not cool. The food is quite good.

Great location, great hotel

This is the first time we have stayed at this hotel. The rooms were very clean and the staff were great. The views from the hotel baloncy were great. Watching the sunset from our palapa was a very romantic setting. We also enjoyed the proximity to several different restaurants in the area. Overall, this hotel is a great place to stay.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

I would strongly recommend walking as much as you can. You can either walk on the sidewalk outside the hotel or along the beach. There are many wonderful things to see. I would also recommend taking the big, green bus when travelling to downtown. The plazuela machado is also a great place to walk, have dinner and overall enjoy the afternoon. Our greatest pleasure was having dinner at the Shrimp Bucket in olas altas. The food (oyster rockefellers) was great. Everything fresh and very reasonable.

Good Times

A nice stay with good service. We stayed in the tower and got a little street noise at night, but the view out over the ocean made up for it. I do think they could upgrade their bedding. I’ve been there several times, although this is the first in the new tower. I would recommend the hotel for anyone staying in Mazatlan.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Buy a calling card to phone home... the hotel connect charges are out of this world... and makes a tank of gas inexpensive by comparison

Ok Hotel for Mazatlan

The Hotel is Ok, by the beach, happy hours twice a day and the best part is you can bring your own drink to the beach. The city does not have much to offer.

Traveler's tip

It’s good if you want to relax by the beach. The city is very touristy, the prices are not good at all and there is not much to see.

One of the best in Mazatlan

I have stayed at this hotel before and felt compelled to come back. It is a wonderful hotel with great service. I have stayed at almost all of the hotels in Mazatlan, and this one is tops by far. The staff will go out of their way to make your stay the best..you just have to ask. When I booked this trip, I emailed the hotel requesting a great room with a great view. when I arrived, they made sure to accomodate me with the best room with a view in the entire hotel. No extra cost. The only thing that was a downer was when I stayed previously, I was in the Jr.Suite and the bed was amazingly soft for Mexico. This time I stayed in a standard room and received the standard hard Mexico bed. I am used to it though so its no big deal to me. I love this hotel and its service enough to consider a time share there!

Traveler's tip on dining

The best places to eat: El Paraje or Heather’s for breakfast. Across the street is Gus and Gus: great for any meal..Live music at night. Pancho’s has the best dinner by the sea! If going on a Sunday, buffet for breakfast at the Playa hotel is great!

Inn at Mazatlan

This is my 10th visit to the Inn. Setting, size and overall cleanliness of hotel cannot be better. They are able to retain staff year after year, so a stay here feels like home.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Deer Island is directly in front of Zona Dorado where hotel is located. $10 rt boat ride takes you to this "desert isle" which has good snorkeling and protected swimming.

Will probably return for a short stay.

Nice location, on the beach, and near shopping and the golden circle. Can’t say much for the restaurant. Service was slow even with only a few customers and the food was ordinary.

Very nice for the price

This is a time share hotel so tell the people you are under 31 years old and they are sure to leave you alone. Our room had a beautiful view of the ocean and was very nice, just a few minor fixs would make it wonderful. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive. It is in the hotel district but only a bus ride from Old Town.

Traveler's tip on dining

Mary’s is accross the street and serves wonderful breakfasts and salads.

We are already planning our return trip!

We hadn’t stayed at Inn of Mazatlan since the 80s. We couldn’t believe the changes they have made - new pool, 15 story tower added and a very elegant restaurant "Papagayo’s" with excellent service and menu. We weren’t sure the Inn could improve, but they did!

Traveler's tip on dining

In addition to Papagayo’s, we also tried Mister "A"’s, La Casa Country & Shrimp Factory for breakfast or dinner. All excellent!

No disappointments at this hotel!!

Excellent staff at the Inn at Mazatlan. Restaurant was excellent with every meal better than the next. Breakfast buffet was wonderful. We caught fish from ocean and the chef made them for us . . . another great meal. Loved the entertainment. Pool was great. Nothing bad to say except started my week out with a hard pillow but the maid remedied that by bringing me a softer pillow.

Relaxed at the Inn

Although we had hoped for warmer weather...the hotel made up for it by having heated pools. We spent 7 days in the pools, which was wonderful. We didn’t want to home as the temps in MN were 80 degrees different. The service at the hotel was out of this world. They welcomed us home upon arrival and took care of our every expectation while we were there. My husband & dad went fishing off the beach and caught a Red Snapper. The hotel cooked it up for dinner (it feed 8 of us). IT WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD! We can’t wait to return next year!

Traveler's tip on local attractions

We went to the aquarium with the kids. The shows were in Spanish and we didn’t understand a thing that was said, but it didn’t matter the shows were very entertaining. This was a great activity to do on a cooler day or if you need a break from the sun. It was 70 pesos per adult and 40 pesos for kids 2-12. Under 2 were free.

EXRTREEMLY WELL MAINTAINED & QUIET HOTEL

THE HOTEL AND THE ROOMS WERE VERY NICE AND WELL TAKEN CARE OF. THE STAFF WAS VERY ACCOMMODATING. SERVICE IN THE BAR & OUTSIDE POOL AREA WAS A BIT SLOW AND LACKING. I THINK THAT THIS COULD HAVE BEEN CORRECTED BY A FEW MORE PEOPLE ON DUTY AT ANY GIVEN TIME. OVERALL WE WERE VERY SATISFIED WITH OUR EXPERIANCE & WILL MOST LIKELY RETURN NEXT YEAR!

I would go back, but get a room away from main street.

We were told it was the new part of the hotel, it needed updated furniture badly. The beds were very hard, so I slept on the couch, which was not much better. The room was very noisey from the street noise. Had to ask for iron, board and hair dryer, 2 of whch did not work and had to get another. They tried very hard, and the food and was good. Great beach and location.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Go to other places to eat besides the hotel. Some are better and cheaper.

Very Pushy, Watch Out.

The hotel Is Nice, However They Cant Hardly Wait to Get You signed Up To Go see there Timeshare. I Felt That The Notices Under the Door And The Phone calls And People Aproaching You At All Times Was Way out Of line. We Felt that We Had To Hide To get away From Them.
