Didn’t meet my expectations

My wife and I went there for our anniversary and the staff was nice but our room was terrible for a 4 and a half star hotel. It was more like a 2 star hotel and i’ve stayed at a Motel 6 that i felt was nicer albeit without the view. The staff was nice but slow at times and the food was so so. I’m not ever going back to it again but then again, we met people who thought it was the best place they’d ever been to.

Can’t wait to go back

Couples San Sauci was like a dream come true. The resort was beautiful, relaxing and therapeutic. We were able to escape from our hetic lives and relax. The Staff was very professional. They expressed extreme kindness to us. Everything was how can I help you Sir or Madam. The food was delcious and exquisite looking. Every dish was gourmet and could have been in a gourmet magazine. We will go back March. All of the experiences were wonderful. I highly recommend the Ocean Massage. The massage takes place in a hut that overlooks the ocean while the waves are rippling in your ears.

repectable resort

A very good resort. The beach area and water quality are poor. Both major restaurants are excellent. Glass Bottom boat trip is a waste of time.

A wonderful Resort

I had a great time at css. The people who worked there were not too friendly. Me and my hubby just ignored that and had ourselves a wonderful time. The jacuzzi room was wonderful and the food was great. Last year we stayed at Couples Negril and it was nice but not as nice as CSS. I am from Jamaica New York and I know what a nice resort is like, so take it from me and try it out.

Great place to stay!

Everything at the hotel was wonderful. Service was outstanding besides being a little on the slow side to get to you at some areas. My husband and I will go back to stay again. Dwaine the beach bartender is wonderful, took good care of us the whole week we were there! Palazzina Restaurant is our favorite place to eat there. Fun entertainment and the Friday Starlight Gala is a must see! Spa massages are outstanding in the huts, we have never had one done in the huts but it was the BEST with the sound of the ocean and the breeze, we did 3 couples massages they were so good! We also did the River Tubing and that was worth it, the whole experience was great!

Traveler's tip

Don’t take too much clothes you pretty much wear your bathing suit the whole time. Not worth dragging a huge suitcase to the airport, hotel etc.

Can’t Wait to go Back

Our honeymoon was great at Couples Sans Souci. The service and recreational activities were awesome. The staff was very nice and friendly. The great staff made for a wonderful stay. The food was also better then we expected. The room was perfect and we didn’t have to worry about children running around the resort. The entire experience at Couples Sans Souci was great, we will be returning to Couples Sans Souci.

Traveler's tip

Be prepared for the drive from the airport to the resort is about 2 hours long. Couples Sans Souci is worth the distance. Dunn’s River Fall is must see. The clime was not as hard as we expected, make sure you take your own aqua (water) shoes and several water cameras. Make sure you also take advantage of the scuba diving.

About our stay

The people there were really friendly. Was very quite and our room was in front of the pool. The hotel offered so many things to do, you dont need to bring much money with you unless its for gifts. They had things going on every nite if you are a night owl.

Awesome resort, but don’t have high hopes for the room

On first impression I was pretty disappointed with the condition of our room. We were in a premium beachfront room and I had higher expectations for a 4 1/2 star resort. They were spacious and comfortable, but in dire need of some updating. Our jacuzzi tub was too scary to use and the furnishings were probably originals. However we got over it quickly because the resort itself is amazing. The food and service was excellent and there is plenty to do. The gym is great and right outside is a smoothie bar. The beach is so relaxing and well maintained. The grounds are beautiful and very impressive. We did some scuba and had a great overall time. If you are going for great rooms, this is not the place. They are musty and need updating. But if you are looking for an awesome package deal with a little of everything to offer, great food & activities this is the place.

San Souci is a good romantic vacation spot.

San Souci was a romantic vacation for us. There has been a slight tendancy for this property to conform to the "party" standards of other properties which is a bit unfortunate since those "other" properties exist in Jamaica. Overall, we were content with the vacation.

Traveler's tip on dining

All restaurants have the same menu for the most part. The names of the items are worded somewhat different but that’s about it.

A+++++ on everything

We went to this hotel to get away from it all. To lie on the beach and get rid of all the stresses of life (I am a law student). This hotel gave us the opportunity to do a lot or a little. We sailed each day as well as other water sports. We went to Dunn’s River Falls. It was incredible. The food was wonderful. We loved the entire experience.

not impressed

the good things were the staff was excellent, very nice and helpful always. Food was ok but room service was the only available option at certain times during the day, and if you didnt want to eat in your room you had to dress to a certain standard. Also no hot room service breakfast. I was expecting a 4 star resort i am used to nicer places, so maybe my expectations were too high (but the $ was high) the property didnt impress me, pictures of resort on internet looked way better than in person. We would not go again.

It could use some updating but nice

The people at hotel make the stay. The furnishings in the room leave a bit to be desired but I totally understand now, you go in and sit on the stuff in your wet things, put drinks right on the tables etc. The food was amazing!! I will definately go back and do recommend Couples Sans Souci.

Can’t wait to go back

We stayed at the Sans Souci for our 2oth wedding anniversary and were not disappointed. From the moment we were greeted at the airport by the resort’s driver we were treated like royalty. As we waited for the rest of the passengers, we sat in a small lounge area and were offered beer or softdrinks. Once we arrived at the resort we were offered champagne or anything else you may want to drink. Check in was a breeze. It took 5 minutes. The resort itself is beautifully maintained with lush tropical gardens and trees. The view from anywhere you are is breathtaking. The food was exceptional at all of the restaurants including room service. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Their are always plenty of activities going on and things to do or you can just sit on the beach and relax. We went on the Dunns River Falls excursion and had a wonderful time. The shuttle bus from the hotel takes you their and picks you up. We stayed for four nights but it was really not enough time to do everything. We would definately go back and stay for a couple more days.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Definately do the Dunns River Falls trip. Bring a waterproof camera and the guide will take your picture several times at different spots.

Ready to return!

Clearly one of the older All Inclusives and the condition of our room made it evident. However, it is that same age that provides the character and charm of the property. The newer resorts seem plain and lifeless in comparison. Hopefully the upcoming and ongoing TLC will bring Sans Souci back to the top of my list.

The Most Incredible Resort Ever

Where do you start when EVERYTHING was incredible. The Hotel/The Service/The Staff/The Grounds/The Food(Oh yes 5 Star)/The Beach/The Water Sports/The Drinks/Did I Say The 5 Star Food/The Penthouse Suite/The Flowers/The Private Dinner(so Romantic)......This is our new vacation home without a doubt. We have been to resorts all over the world but Couples San Souci is the WINNER by a long shot. Thank you Expedia for showing this resort, that is why we use your service. Beautiful Resort

Very impressed with this resort. The grounds were more beautiful than expected and the hotel grounds were just filled with character. The main beach seems so secluded and the water is calm. The food was wonderful and did not have a bad meal the entire time. The staff is for the most part very attentive and friendly. We enjoyed the water activites. Only real complaint was the au natural beach did have the privacy we expected with locals swimming in the water fairly close to the left side of our beach. We ended up spending just about all of our time on the main beach which was more beautiful anyway.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Dunn’s Falls was beautiful but it is very commercialized. You felt like you were in a promotional video with every ten seconds the guides telling you to wave and say "ya mon" to the video camera so they can sell you the video afterwards. Plus they make you go up together holding hands. Would have much preferred the choice of just climbing and enjoying the falls with my wife and having a "meet back here" time.

Will definitely go back

The hotel was so pretty and clean. The satff was great always very attentive. The beach so clean, the pools and jacuzzi’s were all so pleasant. The bars well what can I say they had it all. Overall we had a great stay and would definite go back.

Traveler's tip on dining

The restaurants were so good, for someone as picky as I am there was so much great food, I had no problem- the buffets or regular menu service was wonderful.

Beautiful grounds, exceptional food and spa.

Couples San Souci has all of the amentities of a larger resort in a smaller more intimate setting. The grounds are beautiful, lush and tropical. There are many small areas with breathtaking views, hammocks and places to sit and relax. The spa services were wonderful and the location of the ’huts’ just above the beachwas extremely relaxing. While the breakfast buffet was only average, the lunch buffet was great and the dinners were first class. Service was great throughout our stay; everyone was very friendly and helpful. There were some problems with water temperature at times in the room, but other than that it was a great stay. We will definitely recommend it to friends.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

The dolphin cove was well worth the experience. I would recommend at least doing the ’dolphin encounter’ to get the most for your money.

Couples Sans Souci

This was our second trip to the Resort, and we were just as happy this time. Everything was excellent. Weather was sub-par for the time of year, including tropical storm Olga, but nothing you can do about that. The food was incredible, as was our suite. I think the best part about Sans Souci, is the people. Everyone that works there always has a smile, always bends over backwards to accomodate you, and lives by "No Problem Mon". Will defiantely go back, may try a different Couples Resort just to mix it up, but definately will return to Sans Souci. They are also halfway through remodeling every room at the resort.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Some say Dunn’s River Falls is over-rated, we didn’t feel it was. There was a group from our resort that went and had a blast, plus is was included in our stay. Also, if you go shopping, avoid Soni’s place. Unless you want all over-priced jewelery and T-shirt Shops. The Island village is a little better, at least there, there are local vendors. All of the shops at Soni’s are owned/operated by people from India.

Paradise!

We really enjoyed our time at Couples San Souchi! The hotel is beautiful; the scenery is unbelievable. Truly looks like paradise. It was quiet, comfortable, relaxing, beautiful, very special! Our only two complaints would be: 1) lots of steps (which cannot be helped because it’s built into the side of the mountain), and 2) I would have liked my bathroom floor to be cleaner. We did also have trouble with our shower being very slow to drain. On the positive side, the steps probably helped us to not gain weight:)! The food was great, the service was outstanding, the room was very comfortable, the couples’ massages were the best we have ever had, the hotel itself and grounds are immaculate and very beautiful. Everyone was very friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and cared for.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

We participated in the Dunn’s River Falls excusion. Thankfully, it was included in our hotel cost; otherwise, we would not have spent the money to go. We did not enjoy Dunn’s River Falls very much; we were hurried along way too fast to even enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The guides were brash and not pleasant to us. The shops at the end of the excursion made us feel uncomfortable with their insistance to shop. We would not recommend this excursion.
