This is a short visit unfortunately! Anything going on at this time? Staying at the Royal Sonesta. If you can pick ONE nice restaurant (jacket and pants required), which one would you pick? Want one with a New Orleans flavor. Also how about casual? Last time we pretty much stayed on Bourbon Street and the walks to Harrahs. Looking forward to going back. No kids for a few days. Yeah!!

A nice restaurant with New Orleans flavor? I'd recommend Galatoire's, which is right on Bourbon St. Can't really get more New Orleans than there!

For casual, try Red Fish Grill, Coop's Place, Napoleon House or the Gumbo Shop.

Or you could take a street car to the Garden District an go to Commander's Palace. I think that is wonderfully New Orleans

Hi Mommie2,

If you want a quiet more intimate great dinner, consider Bayona. It has been one of my favorites for the past 10 years or so. For a little bit more lively, consider August. For a great place that the locals love, Clancy's (uptown).

For the casual, I like Coop's Place (lunch); Croissant D'or pattisserie (breakfast); and Cochon (dinner)

Thank you all for your suggestions! We may just do 2 dress up dinners! That is if we can survive Bourbon st. during the day!!! They all sound so great. Hope we can still get reservations so late.
