South Mission Beach |
|
I found a condo for our stay in the southern tip of Mission Beach (south of Mission Bay Park). My husband says that it can be loud and rowdy since he read that "the party never ends" on Mission Beach. Does anyone have any experience with this part of San Diego? Thanks in advance for your input. |

Much less rowdy now that alcohol has been BANNED on the beach. I have friends that live on San Luis Rey just near the end of South Mission and they do not have any trouble on the beach there. I don't think you guys will be in the parking lot at midnight where some of the worst of the rowdiness has ocurred in the past.

We're definitely not planning on being in the parking lot at midnight, especially since we have a 4-year-old toddler in tow. We were hoping to stay in a family-oriented beach area for our few days there. Any suggestion?

We stayed at San Louis Ray and Mission Blvd last year and it wasn't rowdy at all. Only noise were the cars on Mission Blvd, pulling out at the stop. You're even a few blocks S of there. Great location and narrower so you're steps from the green spaces and walk on the Bay side and the wide beach near the jetty. There are also playground swings on that end of the sand and the concrete path along the ocean side also. No bars or restaurants down there. All ages hit the beach and all are family friendly.
