The two of them are literally the same city. They run together and it is even sometimes difficult to tell which one you are in.

You can get from the north end of the 'Metropolitan Area' to the south end in about 15 minutes so if you have to go to either one it won't matter where you are staying as long as you are in Bloomington/Normal.

Did that make sense? LOL

There is actually a Trival Persuit questions asking which two universities are in two towns but on the same road? (ISU and IWU). That is how close things are down there. The only way you can tell you are in one town or the next is the taxes.

Here is how you can tell after the New Year, you will only be able to smoke in your church in Normal, but not Bloomington (according to the Journal Star article on smoking ban).
