On way back down the mountain from Huntington Lake last night, we decided to stop at Trapper's at the Point for dinner. The place re-located awhile back and now has a gorgeous lakeview location in Shaver Lake.

We were seated on the back patio where the views oft he marina and the lake are unobstructed and gorgeous. Even mid-week the place was almost full. Entrees include a fresh garden green salad and warm bread. I chose the Prawn Scampi with Fettucine and a glass of Ventana Chardonnay. The fettucini was perfect, cooked in white wine with just enough garlic and olive oil and the Prawn Scampi was outstanding. Lots of capers and garlic butter. Dessert was the housemade Blackberry Cobbler and Vanilla ice cream. Served warm and very, very good.

My husband had a Pepper Jack chicken entree that he said was not outstanding, but very good. We chatted with a couple from Santa Cruz who were honeymooning in Shaver Lake. It was a very enjoyable evening. We will return to Trappers at the Point! :)
