Simple question - which of the two should we stay at for 3 nights of our honeymoon?

Hi Pippy

I had this exact same choice.

In the end we're going to Kwa Madwala as it has the best reviews for Honeymooners.

Check out the reviews and pics on this site it looks amazing.

When do you need to decide by?

Well the honeymoon isn't untill April 09 but want to book ASAP.

We have already decided on our Cape Town and Mauritius accomodation. So just deciding on Safari. We are leaning towards Kwa Madwala, but slightly put off by the lesser amount of big 5 (we want to see a lion!).

They do reasonable priced trips across to Kruger to see big 5.

The reviews seem to sugest Kwa Madwala is higher luxery which is what I'm after, plus can't wait to try the microlight safari.

I will post as soon as I get back hopefully if I find anything too bad it won't be too late for you.

Hope you find the perfect place and have a great time where ever you end up.

Hello Pippy

I am a representative for Kwa Madwala Private Game Reserve / Manyatta Rock Camp in the UK. We would of course want you to spend part of your Honeymoon at Manyatta althought the world is your oster in terms of options. It's probably not fair to consider Manyatta and Hippo Hollow as they are quite different propositions and it realy comes down to your personal preference.

Manyatta is SA Tourism graded 4 star and is located within a small private game reserve with just 26 unique dome shapped bedrooms scattered over a large hillside offering fabulous views out across the bush.

Besides leopard, lion, elephant and rhino (with buffalo due for reinroduction later this year) all located within the reserve we offer truly uniqe aerial safari flights on property plus elephant back safaris and interaction packages, again on property.

There is a Honeymoom Suite which can be requested which offers a four poster bed and additional living room with log burner if this is of interest.

So I would summarise that if you want to really appreciate and learn about he wildlife, enjoy quality accommodation, a variety of game viewing options (which are not available elsewhere) all within the unique hilltop setting of Manyatta Rock Camp, then there is only one answer......

Good luck and hope you come to the best decision for you.

Thanks you've won me over! The honeymoon suite sounds amazing. What is the weather like in April/May?

Hi there - weather April-May is very pleasant. Like UK summer (warm summer that is!)

Day time high is 23-26C range and dropping to 12-14 at nights. Remember though when you are in the back of an open 4X4 vehicle is feels much colder so bring some warm clothes for the early morning and evening game drives.

Regards

Paul

Thanks again. Sounds warmer than we expected.

We were thinking that we would have to travel to Mauritius to visit a beach resort, but do you think that it is warm enough in S/A for beaches at that time of year?
