Just curious, for those who have stayed at both hotels before, which is better? I'm talking in terms of luxury amenities, room comfort and level of service.

I'm deciding between one of these two for my October Tokyo trip. Tentatively, I have chosen Mandarin Oriental bec it's rated higher in tripadvisor.

Both hotels occupy the top floors of office towers. The MO is newer, while the PH is more established. The MO location is marginally better, in Nihonbashi, not too far from Ginza, Tokyo Station and next to Mitsukoshi Dept Store. PH was the location for Lost in Translation, so its got that.

Both are great hotels, but endorse your choice of MO due to its age and overall level of luxury comfort.
