Has anyone stayed at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel, North Tower, formerly the Annex recently?

I found some reasonable rates for rooms, and we travel on from there to Kyoto. Is the Shinkansen station hard to find,? I understand it's close by...but in a mega mall, close by could be a few blocks.

We are there for 2 nights, anything interesting to see around the Bay area?

Besides being convenient to Shinagawa station, the station itself is much less complicated than Tokyo station, the other Shinkansen stop. Looks like you walk through 'til you see the Shinkansen gate near the other end. Everything nicely marked in English:

(You will be coming down from the top in this map).

Not much to see right around Shinagawa, but easy access to all of Tokyo. You could view the sprawl from Tokyo Tower, Tocho or several other high places, stroll the East Garden of the Imperial Palace, gawk at the architectural excess of the bubble economy at Odaiba... The hotel has an excellent city map and helpful staff.

You cannot miss JR Shinagawa Station from the hotel. It's zero minutes directly across the street. The JR Tokai Shinkansen Station is all the way through to the far side and directly across from Starbucks, just before you reach the promenade exit on the east side.
