Hi,

I will be visting Singapore for four days in Aug. I need some suggestions if my plan makes sense considering that we are coming with 3 kids - all under age of 6. Thanks in advance.

Here is my plan:

Day 1 - Arriving in Singapore around noon. We will be staying in Little India - Perak Hotel. Dropoff bags and have lunch in the area. Check in @ 2 p.m. and let kids rest for a while. Take taxi to Chinatown in early evening. Taxi back to Little India where we plan to shop in Mustafa Center and have dinner nearby.

Day 2 - Take taxi to Harbour and take cable car to Sentosa. Spend Full day at Sentosa. If kids are not too tired then we go for Sunday night laser show near Orchard Road.

Day 3 - Taxi to Singapore Zoo in the morning. Have Lunch in Zoo and come back around 2 p.m. Go for early evening Duck Tour. Dinner near hotel.

Day 4 - Taxi to Clarke Quay and take Riverboat Cruise in morning. Back to hotel by noon. Check out and head to airport for evening flight.

Frankly, not sure if you will find enough to do to justify a full day at Sentosa(?).

I would suggest thinking re-working your trip to the zoo to fit in the night safari....... you could go in the afternoon and take a dinner break and do the night safari. :)

i agree.

Day 3:

Since you're already at the northwestern side of Singapore (zoo), you could visit the Singapore Discovery Centre/ Jurong Bird Park.

Night visit to the Night Safari will be a fitting end to a day out at that side of Singapore. But i think your children might be exhausted at the end of the day.

Day 2:

cut short your day at Sentosa, and spend the rest of your day at vivocity -its linked to sentosa by rail by the way (big big mall).

you might want to dedicate some slots for downtown Orchard Road.

Thanks for your suggestions. I think I will plan half day instead of full day at Sentosa. Do you think Sentosa is very crowded on Sundays?. If yes, then I might switch and go to Zoo on Sunday and then Sentosa on Monday.

Also, is there really a laser show somewhere in Orchard Road on Sunday night? if yes, what time does it start? I realy want my kids to see Sentosa night show but it will be too late for them.

I think that the zoo would likely be more crowded than Sentosa (though tourists will be there all days) and if anything I would do the zoo on a non-weekend.....just a thought.

Laser show at Orchard? Never heard of it.

I do know of another place where they do have laser show at night. It is Suntec City's Fountain of Wealth (realdestination.com/singapore/…20city.php)

But i do recommend the Sentosa's night show which can be pretty fascinating for kids. All the fireworks diplay and plot will definitely be more entertaining than the one at Suntec.

The laser show at Suntec is not worth travelling to unless you are at downtown area.

u have 3 kids under 6 and arriving from TX. After Chinatown, I am not sure how much energy your kids will have for shopping at Mustafa (not easy shopping with kids that age esp. in a mall that is quite popular both with locals and tourists alike).

Jet lag works differently for different people so I would take it easy and go according to what the needs will be upon your arrival. Also, a whole day shopping on your first day might be a bit too much for your kids (chinatown and mustafa/little india). It might be better and more enjoyable if they enjoy the zoo (bring your bathing suits) after their rest on the first day. This way, they may even stay up late enough for the night safari next door once u r done with the zoo in the evening.

Once u get that out of the way (attractions in the north), u have flexibility to plan on what to do next in the center of the city. I also agree with the Jurong attraction ideas of Science center and Snow City for kids that age.

Good Luck
