All the casinos have different atmospheres ... the Venetian definitely has the most to see, not just the casino, the Wynn has the nicest grounds, the two Lisboas are (IME) the most spectacularly ugly from the outside ...

No sleeveless tops or board shorts for men, no flip-flops/thongs. Young and attractive women are normally welcome whatever. The higher the class of casino, the more likely any dress code will be enforced.

Wow....I know that's how it is in the U.S. but I didn't that Hong Kong/Macau discriminates like that too. But I guess it's like that everywhere.....good looking women can get away with wearing ANYTHING!

Hey, Umaga, Macau doesn't even have any anti-discrimination laws in place, so anything goes quite legally!

Hi sun, since you could be visiting during one of Macau's wetter days, and I would perceive, you will be at least wearing a slack/chinos and a long sleeve shirt-then this is fine;if you are carrying an umbrella, well I lost mine at Sands, and got a free Sands umbrella;so bring along an umbrella that you could afford to lose (one of my traveling member nearly got hysteric as his wife thought she is on the verge of losing his special BMW umbrella;but frankly, I was laughing at her,as the winds were strong, and the umbrella flip outwards, and my simple Chinatown umbrella held steady.hahaha).

I reckoned casinos at Venetian and Sands, and also MGM are okay, and also Grand Lisboa, but at one baccarat table at Grand Lisboa, I almost had an argument with a Chinese Mainlanders, very rude.

This website gives a good weather forecast for Macau;-

You can go to Venetian with their complimentary shuttle coach, and from there,go to Sands. Do not miss the Prosperity Tree show at Rotunda at Wynn.

thanks for the great advice.

I will be there from 24th to 26th July. Didnt know that i will be going during a rainy season. Will be sad if the rains stop me from visiting around Macau.

Will there be any impact on the ferry service?

Hi sun, ferry service is only impacted, should typhoon signal 8 is hoisted; a few weeks ago,it was hoisted at HK side, but only until 11.30hrs.

Otherwise, large wavelets at sea,and if you are susceptible to motion sickness,it could be rather uncomfortable, particularly when the ferry cranked down speed, when approaching pier.

Well, be prepared, and monitor that webpage on forecasted weather conditions;so proper attire will still not stop you from going around Macau;though in early June, because of the consistent rain, few shops around Senado Square were closed;however, one thing that I observe, drainage is pretty good over here, there were no water logged roads that we experienced in KL after a downpour or long downpour.

All in all, I am sure that you will have an enriching discovery of Macau.
