You will have problems finding a short let for 11 weeks. Most rental contracts are at least 12 months. You will be better looking for a serviced apartment. Look on geoexpat.com - more helpful for longer stays.

thanks, i'll have a look on there. another question for anyone more in the know than me: whats the best way to keep money? i have a bank account in england with Natwest bank. is it worth me getting travellers cheques? cash? i would like to pay off the serviced apartment in one go when i arrive, is that accepted?

For money, open a Nationwide Flexaccount in the UK and use their Debit ATM card for fee free international withdrawals.

For 11 weeks, your best bet is to find a service apartment for the entire duration so in other words, you will have a 3-month lease. It will be much cheaper than hotels.

On the other hand, it'd be close to impossible to actually rent a proper apartment since the lease is so short.
