My fiance and I are going to be in Hong Kong for two nights as the last leg of our honeymoon (two weeks in Bali before that). We arrive later in the evening on the first night and then have the second night available as well.

We're staying in TST at the new Panorama Hotel - but we're looking to splurge on meals. I'd love suggestions on amazing dinner options in Hong Kong. Also, for the suggestions, are reservations necessary or can we simply speak to the concierege at the hotel to arrange them when we get there?

TIA!

The post headed "restuarant for special occasion" has the top suggestions that will apply to you also, so I have answered your post on the bottom of that thread. As you are a honeymooning couple you may wish to go on the Aqua Luna for a cocktail cruise before dinner, it is totally fab and romantic.

Cafe Too at the Island Shangri-la is wonderful. It is a buffet, but like no other buffet we have been to.

You need to book well in advance though, it is very popular. Just google it and see the number of wonderful reviews on it.

I'd be inclined to head for the Peninsular Hotel. Felix bar and Restaurant. An experience you won't forget. Second night head up to the Peak. There are very nice restaurants there and good fun getting up there on the tram. Suggest you take a bus ride down the other side for great night time views. Must book in advance for Felix

The DYNASTY at the New World Renaissance Kowloon Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui is my personal all time favourite for local Chinese cuisine. Read reviews here:

you didnt mention when you are going....

this time would be perfect for dinner at sea... try

aqua luna or le boat (http://www.toptables.com.hk/leboat/)

i prefer the latter as it's less touristy

For most upscale dinning places, book well in advance- I'd have to book 3 months in advance for the IC buffet brunch, for example.(Not saying you'll have to book months in advance for everything though) Book when you arrive (i.e for the night or next) may result in disappointment. The early bird catches the worm, after all.

Thanks for the additional suggestions! We are going in mid september on our way back from Bali. So I guess we should decide soon and book asap! We tend to like to eat a dinner out at 830 or 9. Is that an appropriate time to book a reservation in hong Kong?
