Just got my info for my August trip. Looks like I have discounts available via Pleasant Holidays and ResortQuest. I have also read here that there are lots of magazines at the airport listing deals on dining/activities/golf as well.

My question is this...how do you find the best deal without driving yourself crazy? Are all the deals on activities pretty much the same, or is there one source that you would recommend as the best?

Looks like most feel the Gold Card isn't worth it, but is there a magazine, guide or whatever that usually has the best deals on activities?

For golf I think I am set with Maui Golf Shop for rentals and stand-by tee times for rates, unless someone has a better recommendation.

As always, thanks in advance for your responses!

You said it best .. it WILL drive you crazy.

Don't follow the deals. They are advertisments. Go where YOU want to go and do what YOU want to do. If you can get a discount, fine ... if not, fine.

DH used this company http://www.mauiclubrentals.com/standBy.htm for golf discounts during our trip last week. He called the night before he wanted to play to check for standy-by availability. This company's rate for Wailea Emerald and Gold was $130 vs. the regular $180 price. Give them a call to save some money on golf!

Glad to hear your husband had a good experience with them as they were who I was going to use for golf for sure.

Do you know if he had a lot of times to choose from?

Sounds like a good way to go. How did he like the Emerald course as that is the one I think I am going to try for as well.
