I'm looking into options for my b/f and I to have a couple extra nights in Maui after the wedding and somewhere different then the Villas.

I was looking at ebay and came across this seller and found this website http://www.bomdigity.com/index.em?pid=631271

They are selling "certificates" for 3 and 6 nights stays at the Four Seasons for $650 and $1200.

The website listing states: This travel is not connected with any timeshare or tour presentation of any kind.

the listing closed but you can still by the certificates via the website. . .just wondering what peoples thoughts are on this deal. . here is the ebay link as well

cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll…

Thanks,

Heather

Buyer beware! Call the Four Seasons and ask for the concierge or reservations.

I did a lot of research on 4S before planning my trip to Hawaii (I finally decided to go to Kauai). But I never came upon any discounts of any kind as far as 4S goes. Everything was always the same as the rates on the 4S www site. The hotel itself may run some specials like stay 5 nights, get one night free, but otherwise there were no discounts that I could find. Maybe they do offer them during that time of year, but I never came upon anything. Hope that helps. I don't know, but maybe try calling the 4S in Maui directly and asking them about this special offer and if they've heard of this company, or call this company directly and ask how they are able to make such an offer. I would definitly do some more research on this though.

he's got 100% positive feedback over the last year and they have places all over (not just Maui).

I read a bunch of feedback where people have purchased their certificate, confirmed reservations but haven't traveled yet.

And people that weren't satisifed with their certificate returned if and were refunded. . been reading all the feedback comments and that only seemed to happen a couple times.

I'm nervous of calling the resort and either finding no one that has heard of this or just might not want to disclose it since of course they would prefer you pay their rates and book through them.

The first thing on the website that jumped out was "Bomdigity Travel is not accepting credit card transactions at this time."...That would be a red flag to me.

Second was the price is not really $650, it is $450, they return 200 after you get your dates, if they are available. So let me see, the 4S is going to give you a room for 3 days for what they get for one day...and there are no hitches? Red Flag

Do as others have suggested, call the 4S directly. I would be very interested in what they say about they certificates.

"I'm nervous of calling the resort and either finding no one that has heard of this or just might not want to disclose it since of course they would prefer you pay their rates and book through them."

I would be more nervous about losing $650 dollars and NOT having a place to stay once I got to Maui....it is just a call. Either it is legit or it isn't, they are not going to say it is not legit just to get you to book via them if in fact it is legit.

Swirl---some of the feedback for that seller on Ebay are from duplicate buyers---that's a little strange. Also a little strange is that you cannot click on the item won for which feedback was left. Also, this seller only has a little over 100 feedback which is low. I'd feel more comfortable about it if the seller had ALOT more feedback comments (like over 500). A couple of the feedback items had neutral comments---look at those closely. I don't know, it might be legit, but if it's too good to be true----it isn't true. Too many red flags here. More interesting is that none of the feedback posted commented on the actual use of the certificates. BIG RED FLAG.

I'm not an ebay expert, but the way I understand it is you leave the feedback after the trip has been completed. We purchased tickets to an event then left the feedback AFTER we went to the event. We didn't leave feedback just because communication was good and we received the tickets in the mail. Everyone left great feedback before they used the vouchers, what if they get to Maui and the vouchers don't work. That alone is a huge red flag. The name sounds goofy and fishy too!!

I sent him a few messages about what exactly is the deal and he gave me this response:

I do currently have these dates available for February 2009. The reason for the great price is that this is a complimentary travel certificate. you are really supposed to get this as a free item but I buy them on wholesale basis and resell them for a price that still brings savings to the customer.

Question from a customer:

What is the process- once I buy the certificate, do I call the hotel to book the dates- and are there

blackout dates or other things to worry about?

Answer: The process is this:

1) You buy the certificate, I check the availability for these dates, If these dates are available

I have them guaranteed with your refundable deposit,

2) I send you a confirmation (not from the hotel but from the travel center, on your dates being blocked & guaranteed)

and travel policies via email,

3) then I send your copies of your certificate(s) & letter,

4) then you just wait for your travel packet from the travel center which comes with your arrival information & a nice formal brochure from the hotel & instrunctions on how to get your refundable booking deposit mailed to you once you've completed your stay. It takes around two weeks to receive your deposit.

5) black out dates for 2008: Thanksgiving day, xmas eve & day, & new years eve

6) black out dates for 2009: Easter, Independance Day, Thanksgiving day, xmas eve & day, & new years day & eve

If they are usually a free certificate i'm trying to figure out how he resells them. .guessing buying in bulk from a travel agency that books airfare for people but doesn't let them know there is a hotel package option also or maybe it's just not needed. Like me, i just booked Air+Car but it's possible that travel agencies book full packages, sell off the air+car and get a certificate or somethign on the unused hotel portion. . .in any regard i'm going to pass since i have set dates, i don't want to worry about buying it and them being full when I go to reserve.

Thanks for all the feedback here.

Again, CALL 4S and inquire about the legitimacy of the certificate. I would be VERY careful on this one---especially since it's your Honeymoon!

Swirltz.....You have a ton of SPG points from purchasing the Condo last year-i'd use your points as this deal has Fiasco and rip off written all over it-this one just smells bad-i agree with the last caller -no credit card deposit is a big red flag.
