We land quite late on a Friday evening and are considering taking a taxi from airport to Altstadt (there are 3 of us to share costs). What would you expect to pay? The lowest quote so far seems to be Resort Hopper for about £50.

About 60€ with a normal taxi.

You can all share a Partner Day Ticket (Partner-Tageskarten) for the whole Munich transport system for 18 euros and take either the S8 or S1 Sbahns to the city center and use it for the rest of the day. It is cheaper than a taxi and I have read that it is probably quicker. It is certainly easy to use.

Especially on a friday evening the traffic around Munich will be a nightmare. Take the S-Bahn (both S1 and S8 go to the city center) and save yourself a traffic jam.

We do not land until 22.30 - I imagine traffic will be a lot lighter by that time? As we are arriving so late I do not really want to use public transport.
