I looked through hotel reviews very carefully but just couldn't decided where to stay for one night in Berchtesgaden. I will be traveling alone and need recommendation on what hotel will be best for me (traveling by train).

Also what is the best way get to Königssee lake from Berchtesgaden? If by bus, what is bus number and schedule?

I stayed last summer in hotel Post in Bayerisch Gmain which is on the railway line from Salzburg to Berchtesgaden. The hotel is very nice, the station is figurally on the hotel backyard! If this is of interest, see my review at
