I booked the Bahia Principe Ambar this past March or April (I can't remember without looking at my stuff) for January 09 with another couple. Will be my 6th trip to PC -

We are paying about 3000.00 per couple for 6 nights/7 days, and I thought that was a good price.

I'm flying Continental out of Newark, NJ.

I think our Canadian friends do get better deals from the people I have spoken to over the years going down to PC.

I say it is a good deal because I've paid close to 7000.00 for 3 people at Easter time at Melia Caribe Tropical Royal Service for a suite, so 3000.00 to me is a bargain!!!

$3000.00 per couple .....wow. We booked 10 days in October for $2050.00 per couple. We have 6 couples going because of the great rate.

I've checked rates for air and PCP for Feb /09 and it's around $3200. per couple. The rates have really gone up for next year (from Canada), the ones that I've checked. Maybe someone else has found better! I hope!!!!

Bob...you're such a bargain hunter! We booked the Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus in Feb for $2300. including flight, hotel, transfers, cancel for any reason travel insurance...and my $400. credit from my credit card miles!

It makes a huge difference when you travel. The same trip in October would be substantially cheaper but we are going to Mexico in November (for $836. pp) for a week at a new hotel in RM.

We have booked for Feb 5-11 (6 nights) at the Majestic Elegance and upgraded to "Elegance club" total will be $3200 per couple out of Charleston WV (USAir) I thought this a good deal - I paid $2200 just for myself for an AI Aruba trip this year.

Thanks for the posts. I have been to Samana and Peurto Plata, but I have heard that Punta Cana has the best beaches by far, and we are big time into the beaches as we spend the majority of our trip on the beach. I hear that the LTI is pretty cheap and they have one of the nicest beaches on the strip.

I guess I will probably have to wait till the better deals start to come up in November December for January trips.

Have you tried aeroplan if you have the points I found 4 1st class ticket for 01-15 feb @ 190.55 per ticket not a bad price from edmonton

I've checked several different sites for 2009 prices and it just might be worth it for us to drive to Buffalo and fly from there instead of flying out of Toronto. Just have to watch the web sites and see!

Hi gtown15, we are going to LTI Punta Cana on 8th of September for 14 nights from UK London, and the total price we have paid is £3000 All incliusive ( Flights and Transfer) for 2 couples so it is £750 per person but don`t forget its 14 nights A BARGAIN.
