we were there in march. i realize that is not extremely recent. we DID have a really fabulous holiday. we have been to mexico many times and to cuba so we did have a rough idea of what to expect. we did not go with extremely high expectations and we do know that things differ from resort to resort and from country to country. do not be unrealistic and i am sure you too will have fun. be respectful to the staff, they are extremely hard working and not well paid. make sure you take advantage of the free shuttle into sosua and caberete. relax and have fun. all the rooms should be completed from the renovations and upgrades. we are going back to breezes in november because we did enjoy it so much. there will always be travellers who are hard to please and pick at every little thing that could possibly go wrong. your holiday is what you make it. i sincerely hope their standards have not slipped for your sake. cheers to having a great vacation.
