Hi, we went to south Dominican last year, we did see same sex couples but don't think anybody really took any notice, there was a couple of American lesbian girls who were real fun and got on with everybody.

I can't give info from my own mouth, but...my sister went to Dominican last year, after i had been and told her how amazing it was. She went with her girlfriend, and she told me that if anything, the dominicans were extremely nice with them, and the men just playfully flirted with them both at times.

I am sure you will have an amazing time, and as long as you don't make it an issue, i don't think they will. :) the majority are very nice people.

I have been to the Breezes resort several times and encountered same sex couples. No one seemed to take any notice, if you are a pretty girl you will attrack attention no matter what your orientation. I can only speak for myself but I don't care what type of couple you are, I don't like being in a public place feeling like I have wandered into someone's bedroom. There is a time and a place for everything and a public area filled with strangers is not the place to decide that you suddenly find your partner irresistable. Male/female, male/male, female/female some things are just meant to be private.

just to say you will be absolutely fine :-)

whilst we were in the DR last time, me n hubby met some fabulous same sex couples, we all had a great time and lots of fun, and the staff got on with them like a house on fire, had a rite laugh.

I feel the only time staff are abit stand offish is if anyone is rude to them, which goes without saying.

You will have a great time and will meet loads of nice people, enjoy your hols

My boyf and I are from Manc and are off to DR on 1st Sept, we have checked it out with the embassy and there doesn't seem to be any problems, we are staying at the Riu Merengue, and I will report back how we get on!

From what I have seen they don't seem to care one way or the other

Everytime I have been to DR I have met and made friends with same sex couples (male and female). The people in DR treat same sex couples no differently to anyone else and I have certainly never seen any homophobic attitudes. The country is very relaxed and laid back and everyone I have ever come across does not seem remotely judgemental whatever your size, shape, colour, sexual orientation etc etc
