I'm thinking about booking a 7-day vacation in Barbados this coming September. Some of the hotel/air-fare package deals are pretty good right now, and I'm thinking that Barbados on the whole would be cheaper than Aruba, and hopefully less touristy. I'll be going with my girlfriend, we're both in our early 30s and enjoy kayaking, hiking, snorkeling and all of the usual "young couple" vacation activities. I've narrowed my choices down to Aruba or Barbados, mostly because they supposedly lie outside of the dreaded hurricane belt, but I'm open to suggestions on this as well.

Any thoughts?
