We had intended to eat here based on other reviews, but when we arrived to the corner and saw the "sister restaurant" Cafe Bernard with its dismal, faded, handlettered sign in the window we began to cringe. This place was FANTASTIC!!! It was suggested by a couple friends of ours who lived up in Lincoln park. It is maybe a 30 seat restaurant. There are 2 restaurants that share the kitchen this one and Café Bernard. The Red Rooster didn't have a bar and we got their a little early so we walked in to Café Bernard... more

Used trip advisor (as we have many times before) to find this out-of-the-way gem on Halsted. Don't let the initial looks fool you, The food was great.
