We had two weeks in Waikiki last week May and first week June 2007. Our biggest problem was getting a King bed for very tall hubby and myself, plus something for our young son without paying $300 a night! We didn't realise when we booked with Hawaii Marina Vacations that they ran separately from the Illikai hotel. However we got... more

My 22nd floor room was large and nicely furnished, but construction next door was noisy and prevented me from enjoying the balcony in the morning. There is no room service, and all of the restaurants on the main floor are closed. Housekeeping is sporadic - towels are changed daily, and wastebaskets emptied, but glassware and coffee mugs were not changed... more

We have just spent 8 days at this hotel, and couldn't have been happier. We asked for an Oceanview room with kitchen, above the 12th floor, and that is what we got. We were on the 22nd floor, and looked sideways off our balcony to the lagoon from the hotel next to us, and the Ocean. The day we arrived,... more

This hotel should be torn down but reportedly, that is not cost effective...so it continues. It is a mix of timeshare, condos and hotel rooms. When we were there, the elevators didn't really work right and at times you had to wait over 10 minutes for the elevator. It became difficult to come and go because you always had to... more

I am not crazy about Honolulu, but we had to stay there for business before going to Maui for vacation. Since my husband was at work most of the days, I was left at the hotel. I actually enjoyed it. We were up on the 23rd floor and had a partial ocean view. I enjoyed waking up and drinking my... more

Ilikai Hotel My wife and I stayed at the Ilikai for a week in mid February. We have no complaints. We had requested a room with two double beds, but that was not possible until our third night, so the hotel put us on the fourth floor with a partial ocean view. There was construction next door when we arrived,... more

Good: The rooms are quite large and quite a bargain. Though the building is ugly from the outside, the interiors are lovely with floor to ceiling windows and large balconies. Our room came with a full kitchen, and I believe that that is the layout for most rooms in this building. Bad: This building is ineptly managed. There were "pardon... more

#1. Hotel is under construction. #2, had a "beutiful view", NOT, of the basically abandoned building, which used to be a part of the ilikai. It had plastic over some of the windows, etc.#3. Is basically and old folks home. Everyday by 9 a.m. all the homes peeps had already took all of the pool side seating, Oh, It used... more

I took my wife to Hawaii for our 30th wedding anniversary. We had a wonderful room on the 24th floor. Fantastic view and great service. Everyone was really helpful and nice. The beds were the best we have slept in. We didn't have trouble with noise. We found that the elevators were fairly quick considering that there are 25 floors... more
